The corner unit is 12 inches deep.

Actual dimensions please

134cm tall ,48cm wide, 24cm between each shelf, Well worth the money very pleased with mine

Is this sturdy or not - the reviews are mixed with some saying sturdy and others saying flimsy. WIll it hold cast iron pans, safely?

I can confirm, that if built correctly this is a very sturdy unit. I have 3 Staub cocotte pots on 2 shelfs as well as a very large All clad stock pot on the bottom shelf and another set of All clad pans (set of 3) stacked on the top shelf. On one of the middle self's I have 2 large Lodge skillet. What I would say is the instructions were not cleared and I had to rebuild it half way when I realised the mistake I made due to the poor Instructions
