5.11 Kubaton Pen, Style 51164, Black

I love this pen! I have checked out several different kinds of tactical pens and the issue that I always run into is that most are a little too thick and bulky. They are great as a defensive tool, but as a pen, they are a bit clunky to hold and write with ... but this pen is not only very sturdy and well built, but is the perfect size (like a normal pen) to write with comfortably! 5.11 has done it again and I am a customer for life! I use their boots, their belt, their socks and now their pen as well!

I've used one of these for years. Had a backup. Gifted both away to folks who deserved them. But, I missed having it. So, bought two more. One in my regular rotation. One backup. The price is right. The reason I really appreciate this pen is no cap to lose, terrific grip and not over weaponized. This has passed through airports, courthouses, etc. For those looking for an extra option, I very highly recommend this pen. Thanks.

I go into homes of strangers daily and am never sure of the dangers I will face. This pen is weighted, sturdy, has a no slip grip, and should I need to protect myself it will not break like a regular pen. Having this gives me a sense of security.

I like the discreet style. And really like the excellent writing of the pen.

Pen looks nice and could have been a great design. This type of self defense pen should rely on a simple screw down mechanism. You tighten it to expose the pen, loosen it to retract. This pen contains a typical cheap retraction mechanism you find on generic Chinese executive pens. The mechanisms often fail and definitely won’t be impact resistant enough to be in this type of pen. Also, if you tighten the end cap to make the clip tighter it makes the mechanism so tight it almost can’t function. Cheap garbage sadly and definitely overpriced.
