Great sample mangler, great FX, excellent sequencer! Sample editing and slicing is fantastic!
A slight learning curve if you're coming from MPC or NI Maschine but it only took me a week to wrap my head around it. It does remind me of the SP1200 a bit which is a good thing.

Despite Age, Still Best Performance Mixer
Despite the age the Octatrack is still the best performance mixer for synths. As the brain of my DAWless setup, I use it primarily as an effects mixer for various drum machines and desktop synths. The learning curve is real, but check out guides online (those from EZBot, Midlife Synthesist, BoBeats, and SynthDawg were extremely helpful to get started). It honestly took over a year before I was comfortable using the Octatrack, but I am so glad I spent the time to learn it.

Wow elektron! Maybe change some things if your going to say it’s a mk2
Why I did I pay this much for something that is over ten years old! I thought the mk2 would have new feature upgrades but nope! They decided to keep the same hardware and software. Just buy the original there’s no difference.
