A Lifesaver for Quick Fixes!
I recently used Rescue Tape by Bond It to fix a leak in a well pipe, and I couldn’t be more impressed with its performance! The tape is super easy to apply—just stretch and wrap it around the affected area, and it bonds tightly to create a durable, waterproof seal. The instructions were clear, and the tape worked exactly as advertised, holding up even under pressure. After applying the tape, the leak was sealed instantly, and it’s been holding up perfectly ever since. It’s a great solution for emergency repairs when you need a quick fix without the hassle of professional tools or services. It also works on various surfaces, which is a nice bonus for future repairs around the house. The quality of the tape is outstanding, and it really does create a strong bond. I’m confident this will last for a long time. Highly recommend it for anyone needing a reliable and easy-to-use emergency fix!Pros:• Easy to apply• Strong, waterproof seal• Works on various surfaces• Great for emergency fixes• Durable and reliableCons:• None so far!

Great stuff for an emergency.
I have used this stuff for years. I keep it in my RV, truck tool box, and at my house. It has save me on the road once and at the house several times. Is a great temporary/emergency fix on, pressurized water line until you can get a permanent fix in place, a radiator hose, or wherever you have a leak. I also used it on a old Ford truck to fix a leak on a high pressure AC line. I was losing freon, added the leak detector, id'd the leak, taped it up, put a hose clamp across the tape, topped off the freon, and here I am 3 years later and still works perfect. Just won't work on a threaded fitting where it meets the pipe. It won't get up into the threads. But works great on flat surfaces.

Does the job!
No adhesive is used. Stretch tape as you wrap and it sticks to itself.

It will fix somethings, but copper cold water pipe pin holes, not so much.
I've used different versions of silicone tape and some things it works well for and others not so well. If you are trying to patch copper water pipe 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch you are better off with a different fix. If this is your issue I would use a hose clamp similar to what is on the hoses on a car. They make rubber packing sheets sold in the plumbing section of the hardware or home improvement stores. You can get a 6 in x 6 in sheet for less than $4. You cut the rubber sheet the same width as you clamp and the length will be a little less than the circumference of the pipe you are fixing. Just cut the sheet into one 5/8in strip 6 in long, then wrap it around the pipe where the strip comes together is where you want to cut the length. Then just take your clamp and rubber strip placing the strip over the pinhole and tighten the clamp. This will hold much better than this silicone tape, it won't loosen as the tape does. Go to Youtube and search, there are videos to show you how to do this. The tape works well on electrical, better than the sticky electrical tape. But on water pipes under pressure it just doesn't work that well.

Known in the trades as bi-seal tape
This is the tape that fuses to itself creating a watertight seal. Very durable and a solid hold. As you pull the tape from the roll, peal off the extra clear tape covering the black product. This will expose the tape so it can adhere to itself. It is very sticky after the tape comes together with itself but will separate easily if you need to reposition the wrap. After the tape is together for awhile it becomes one with itself, a very good seal indeed.

Thinner than it used to be
I have been using this tape for various projects for years. I had bought so many rolls years ago that I haven't need to buy a newer version until now. It still has great adhesion but I was very sad to find the tape is much thinner than the original version of this tape. Hence, the three stars instead of five.

Useless
I have used this in 2 locations and neither did a bit of good. My first repair was of a hose with a crack in it. I cleaned and prepared meticulously but hose just immediately leaked so I took it apart and tried two more times, each successively larger repairs but it sprayed and leaked more than before applying oddly. Not surprised by that, honestly-- it's a hose with a good deal of pressure so I was hopeful but realized it was unlikely to work. Second repair was a shocker. I had a tiny leak in a copper pipe....the equivalent of a few drops per day. It was so slow I thought it would "self repair". Since I had this product I figured one wrap or two would seal 'er up, especially tightly wound. It went on GREAT and I was dumbfounded to see it leaking more than before. I took it down and cleaned it up for take two....same result, only leaking 20xs what it was. I tightened the wrap and reinforced several times. This is a pic from minutes later. Junk! I've used similar tape in the past without issue, so I'm guessing it's just this product sucks.

still works even with a sloppy wrap
The instructions say to stretch the tape, but what they don't say is that the tape itself is attached to a plastic strip. When you unroll it you'll see a thin plastic strip backing the silicone. You must peel this silicone layer off the plastic backing, then stretch it and keep it stretched while you wrap up your leak.I had a shower head that started leaking near the inlet pipe and it was so bad the leak was spraying on the ceiling. I don't know if the inlet pipe threads got damaged or what because I've replaced the plumbers tape several times and tried not over tightening but it still sprayed. This stuff had it sealed almost instantly and although it still drips, I don't have to worry about spraying the ceiling anymore. If I take the shower head off and redo the tape i'm betting it would seal up completely but reducing it to a drip, a slow drip at that, is perfectly fine.
