I use it in my workshop which is not a quiet place. I have not noticed any ticking sound, there may be be one, but I haven't heard it.

The description says 1/2 horsepower. That's about 375 watts. Enough for a couple lamps. If that's the rating then a space heater is too much and might be a fire hazard. However it looks like the description here might be wrong.

The face of the Timer Shows a DISTINCT PICTURE OF a GREEN ARROW For Setting the TIME!! **The one I Receive TODAY, "WELL"! IT has the ARROW- BUT U have to SQUINT!And hold it JUST SO!! TO GET AND MAKE SURE YOU GOT THE TIME SETTING RIGHT!!! WITH THAT ALMOST INVISIBLE ARROW!!! IN MY OPINION-BAD ADVERTISING, COULD LEAD TO-BAD FOR BUSINESS MOST ASSUREDLY!!! *BUT I decided to keep any way ! AS I stated earlier the TIMER IS VERY ACCURATE!! *REASON? I MODIFIED IT,USING A PERFECTLY STRAIGHT AND VERY POINTED TOOTH PICK- U Heard RIGHT! But first I took a black permanent marker and painted SO TO SPEAK!!Just the Inside WHITE CIRCLE AND (CAREFULLY!!) After that I took the WHOLE TOOTH PICK, SO I CAN HANDLE THE PROCESS CAREFULLY And not in an Alkward Manner! *TO hardened the TOOTH PICK, I Treated It with SUPER GLUE! Using Rubber Gloves,- SO The GLUE Goes on THE TOOTH PICK Evenly! *let the glue dry (NOT LONG)- After that Cut It to the Size of the ARROW. Then Smooth up the end of the TOOTH PICK That U Just Cut and Going to Use for Your new ARROW!!! ***NO! THIS TOOK LONGER TO WRITE THAN THE PROJECT!! (REALLY!!) TOTAL TIME FOR MY PROJECT ABOUT-30-35 MINUTES. *WELL-Better Go, HOPE you Enjoyed MY Story!! PS-MY NEW TIMER WILL BE SHUTTING DOWN MY LAMP IN ABOUT 22 MINUTES FROM NOW!! *LATTER FOLKS!!
