DIMPLEX Electric Fireplace, Black

Sadly, this came here damaged; bent frame, part of the logs sticking out on the bottom. Also, the description states that it heats up to 1000 square feet (which is what I needed), but the sticker on the glass states 400 feet. I feel slightly taken advantage of.The flames are nice, and do simulate a real fire as well as may be expected, but the Ashley fireplace is also nice, and its cost is lower. For this price, I expected more.

Great heat output. Have to be real close to fireplace for remote to work. Makes a squeaking noise.

The media could not be loaded.  The heat could be a little more intense. But I do like the fact that it is a ceramic heater that does not glow bright orange. It seems safer to me. The remote has to be close to the fireplace and aimed properly to function. I wish it would work from 14’. As far as the simulated fire goes I like the looks as it is a good simulation. The biggest draw back is how bright the logs glow. If they were about half the intensity it would be a great simulation. See my attached video.

Easy to install, attractive with the "logs and flame", easy to understand controls, quick delivery.

Heater assembly failed after about 1-1/2 years. Warranty is only 1 year. Cost of new heater assembly is $230 plus tax (does not include installation - just the part). They say they can provide instructions on how to replace the heater assembly yourself. It possibly might be available sometime after May 2023 but no promises. I have been reading that this seems to be a common problem with this unit. Probably best just to buy a whole new fireplace.
