This product drove me crazy. It took me a few days to get it connected to my Wifi. I have a Google Pixel 8 and could not get the app to connect to the sump pump monitor's Wifi network. This is required so that you can tell the device what your network SSID and password are so that it can connect. Little did I know that you need location enabled on your Android phone, or else on the "Connect to Wi-Fi" part of the setup, the "next" arrow at the bottom right of the screen will be greyed out and you won't be able to proceed further in the device setup. I don't know how many times I had to go through the entire setup process of scanning the QR code on the box, adding my information for warranty, only to get hung up on this step.My wife has an iPhone, so I tried that too before I figured out I needed to turn the location on in my Android phone. It would get to the point where we could input the wifi network SSID and password, but it would never connect.The support pages on Moen's site really did not provide any useful insight.Before I figured out the location issue, I tried plugging a cat5 cable into the sump pump monitor and my router, hoping I could connect to it that way. Well, this killed my entire network, including hard wired devices. After a reboot of the router, everything came back up, and the port I had connected the sump pump monitor to is now dead. This damaged my router, which is about $400 new, so I'm not real happy about that. After researching more on what this port is supposed to do, I found on Moen's site where a customer asked about the port, and they said it has "no function". I'm guessing the 9v battery backup back fed into the router, so thanks for providing a port with no documentation Moen!

I was looking for a sump monitor, with remote notifications and ability to trigger a 120v backup pump. What I got was 2 out of the 3 things on my list. (1 and 2, with the ug only able to monitor when primary pump was running) Everything about this was a bit ambiguous, adverstising, site docs on device, amazon docs on the device. Heck even the program name is not what they tell you. It's "Moen, Smart water network." The app actually made thing clearer with it idiot proof install/walk through. It said, do not plug in your backup pump! Once it was installed and configured (Note turn off mobile data, and force connection to stay when using WIFI or your device will jump off the moen device wifi at 2.5 ghz. That's right, you device and router needs to support 2.5 ghz and be configured to use it, or your not connecting to this without a hardline ethernet. Other then that let's she how it goes in the long term.Sump details: Main Pump 2011 Zoeller m98 backup is a 12v zoeller 507 that I have on a 12v supply that works off 120v and is connected to a large battery backup for my network, security, and fire alarms.

When it works, it is a good solution, but unfortunately it doesn't work very long. Any interruption in WiFi means you need to re-setup the unit from scratch, including removing the battery, scanning the QR code, entering your birthday, typing in your WiFi password, waiting, waiting and more waiting to connect, and about half the time it doesn't setup correctly. You may have to do this 2-3 times each time it loses the connection. There's an ethernet port but the Moen documentation says you can't use it for network (future expansion or never finished the product?).This is a critical product meant to provide alerts for an urgent situation, and given the flaky connectivity issues I can't trust it. I'll be throwing it away and replacing it with something reliable, which is a shame because if they would just spend some effort on the app it could be a good product.

I really wanted the sump pump monitor to work. I have had positive experiences with the Moen Flo whole home shut-off and needed something to monitor the sump pump. I have had a few issues with it - it doesn't detect when my 1/2 HP sump goes off - so I can't get an understanding on how often the sump is working, and secondarily the water sensor (ultrasonic I think) keeps setting off false alarms that the pump has failed and there is a danger of imminent overflow - which results in texts and calls (this is good if it was reliable). I have contacted support twice and received a new unit so it's not a hardware issue (unless it's with the revision of hdw in the supply chain) and I have even thought it's something to do with my pump do tried it at my parents to test - within a few hours I had 3 false alarms with the siren going off at 3am - I went downstairs and the levels and pump where all normal. I hope they solve the issues - it wasn't a wifi issue I have an AP 8 feet away locked to the Moen MAC and can tell SNR is great. I hope they get this resolved - in the meantime I'm looking at other options like PumpSpy. For the record the support was great - I think the issue is with the hardware or maybe software and I just can't trust the device.

It didn’t work for us. Gave us a lot of false alarms.

Thankful for such an amazing device, if you install this correctly you will sleep well at night.
