chattra Sky Feather Zafu & Zabuton Meditation/Yoga Set

This is very well made product...sturdy fabric, lovely patterns and comfortable. I love that I don't feel the need to store them away. Since meditation is new for me, it helps to have a visual reminder. I chose this item based on the pattern and color which was the Sky Feather option and for the removable cover for cleaning. It is as pictured with lovely depth and design. The construction and sewing is very well done with clear attention to detail. I didn't notice it in the picture but each piece has a subtle "handle" which is sewn in very well and great for moving to clean and repositioning. The inner cushion of the Zabuton is very comfortable right out of the box. I did remove a fair amount of the buckwheat hulls from the Zafu to get the comfort level of my choice, which is now great. For those not familiar with this idea, which I wasn't until a friend showed me: The hulls will loose some height over time so it is actually really great to be able to remove the amount desired, save it for later on when the Zafu hulls compress over time. (The more you know!) The cushions also came with removable tassels (not sure of the correct word for them, forgive me if they are of significance). I removed them because they were an attraction for my dog and cat who are not allowed on the pillows- no pet hair on my meditation pillows, please! I actually think the fabric on the cushion will hold up fine to pets which is why I can keep them out and accessible. The tassels were given to my friend's little girl and she loves them.The kind people at Chattra let me know right away that they were out of the matching Sky Feather Zafu at the time of my purchase and offered to send an alternative colored Zafu with the Sky Feather Zabuton and then would send me the matching cover when it was back in stock free of any additional charge and I would have two Zafu covers for the price of one. I agreed and they were true to their word and quicker than promised. They sent me a lovely complimentary color in the meantime. They clearly chose one that worked well with the Sky Feather choice, it is, I think, the Saffron option, which is a lovely color as well. The pattern on the Saffron is more subtle if you like a quieter design. I haven't switched them out yet, I kinda like the contrast since both colors/patterns work well together and in my decor. It is definitely worth the price, for really great pieces.
