The xbox one is ~13.5 inches when standing. The section for the console in this station is almost exactly that. I WOULDN'T RISK IT. Width and length wise its fine but the height is a close call unless you don't screw the game shelf in. In which case you have ~16 inches of height to work with.

Do you need to use a vertical stand for the PS3 Superslim?

You shouldnt need one, pretty sturdy , unless someone knocks the whole thing over it should be fine.
