Daughters of the King: Finding Your Place in the Biblical Story

After downloading this study, my plan was to quickly skim it and read it in detail at a later date. After reading the first chapter, I was so gripped by the content and the ease of the writing style that I read all 10 chapters. Immediately, I could see how this study can be used with the ladies at our church. We are in a church plant, where the majority of people are first generation Christians who have no knowledge of Scripture. This study is perfect to help teach women about Scripture, God's story and how each woman uniquely fits into God's overall story. My favorite part of this study is the 'My Story' section found at the end of each chapter. This section is practical and will aide women in conforming their lives to God's Word and finding their place in God's Story. This study is beautifully written and rich in content that will transform the lives of women. I highly recommend it!

This book is so good! I love that I feel like I am sitting down having coffee with Melissa. She is very real about her faith and life struggles and she brings in the theme of the Bible so naturally. Now I want to read this together with some of my neighbors and younger women friends. We all need this truth to never leave us... that we are the King's daughters and He has a purpose for us and has rescued us. This book is a "must read" for young believers AND those of us who have walked with the King for a long time. We all never tire of hearing that we are loved and belong to the King, intended to live a life of rest and purpose with Him in His kingdom. This study will make you want to dive deeper into the pages of God's word and see it for the complete, unified, and wondrous story that it is.

Melissa has done an amazing job of taking the redemptive story of Jesus Christ and showing that from Genesis to Revelation, the message of Christ is one fully interwoven message. She shows that what is spoken in the Old Testament connects to the New Testament and that God's word is one cohesive, God inspired, word that tells us of God's redemptive story for all of mankind. What I have found is a study that is easy to understand and follow. With stories interwoven from Melissa's own experience as a missionary and now mom of two, I believe that it will truly resonate with women everywhere. This study-written specifically for women-is a perfect introduction to Biblical theology. In the span of 10 chapters, Melissa Deming takes her readers on a journey through the entire Bible, giving us a "birds-eye view" of the overarching and unifying theme of God's kingdom from the book of Genesis to the book of Revelation. It is extremely accessible and will benefit even the newest believer who has barely begun to explore her Bible. This, perhaps is one of the study's greatest strengths and will make it a valuable tool in small group and discipleship settings. How blessed is the woman who learns early on in her Christian life to view all of the Scriptures as building up and pointing to the glorious news of the gospel! Indeed, this would be the perfect book to walk through with a new Christian. Yet, there are also many within our churches today who have much Bible knowledge, and yet lack the crucial ability to view the Word of God as unified and purposeful. They too, will benefit immensely from this study.I definitely recommend this study to anyone who wants to have a better understanding of the unifying theme of Scripture!

I was once on a road trip with a friend who did not grow up in a Christian home, but she knew that I did. At one point in our trip she turned to me and said, "So tell me about the Bible... like what's it about?" I was dumbfounded and honestly didn't know how to answer. Where did I even begin? Oh how I wish I had read "Daughters of The King" before that trip. This study gives you the answer to that very question in a wonderfully comprehensive and purposeful way. It makes connections amongst the whole Biblical text where our secular world seems to find only disparities and contradictions. It is beautifully written as well. Reading this study feels like an intimate conversation with the author, a back-and-forth with your new girlfriend. Read this with a pen handy to make lots of notes and get ready to be inspired.

It's clear that Melissa's desire is to lead women into a deeper, fuller, more intimate relationship with God through studying and understanding his word and learning how to apply it in their everyday lives. The 10 week bible study goes through the entirety of God's story- from Creation and the Fall, to the History books, to the Gospels, to Revelation. She gives context for each portion of scripture and clearly articulates how they relate to one another. And most importantly she emphasizes that this is one story by one author with one message
