Very nice!
I love linguine! The noodle maker did not come with the linguine attachment. So, I bought the linguine cutting attachment for ~$35 (seems to be on sale perpetually from the $58.99 list price). This linguine attachment is made of very thick gauge alloy steel and it works very well. Just follow the instructions from the manufacturer and you will produce masterpieces every time. Keep the dough dry as possible and nothing will stick to it. I did not know this but, some noodles are simply square cut from the flattened dough. Linguine is different. It is molded into an oval cross section as the flattened dough goes through the cutter. Just thought I would share.Seems very sturdy. It should last a long long time. It appears to be really durable and solid. Reeks of quality. When we visited Italy, an Italian complimented me by saying that Americans make great athletic clothing and shoes. Well, I say that Italians make great cars and noodle makers!

Excellent. Makes nice oval cross-section linguine.
I love linguine and this is a great tool for making it. I need to use a dryer dough (more flour) than I use for most of my noodles because the strands will stick together if I use my standard dough. That is not a problem. The results are great. Great for Asian-style noodles such as lo mein noodles.

Third Time is a Charm
The third linguine attachment works!First one: handle did not fit properly into the attachment.Second one: handle did not fit properly into the attachment but I wanted to try to live with it because it did turn. The handle kept falling on the floor which meant having to protect my wood floor. The linguine came out perfectly. But then, the rods that are supposed to come out to facilitate cleaning would not come out. I tried really hard and used a piece of rubber to try to get them to budge, but no luck.I love the Marcato Atlas 150 machine, the fettucine attachment, and the spaghetti attachment. I am good at making pasta dough. Never once had problems. The linguine attachment has been a major quality-control issue. The one-star rating is because it took three tries to get a good linguine attachment.Update: despite several tries, the linguine noodles come out in pairs that have to be separated by hand.

Another Quality Pasta Cutter for Atlas
A great addition to the wonderful Atlas Mercato pasta making machine. This cutter makes perfect Linguine without any sticking. I recommend the following little tips to help you get perfect results.1. Make sure your pasta is neither to wet or to dry.2. Keep the pasta that you are not using covered so it doesn't dry out.3. Sprinkle extra flour as needed on the pasta your working to prevent it from sticking to the rollers.4. For Linguine Atlas recommends you take the dough to #3 thickness. This is a great product as it has expanded the abilities of the great Atlas Marcato Pasta Machine. I highly recommend it.

Difficult to clean
I prefer linguine to spaghetti, most of the time. I am new to pasta making, but a perfectionist, so I've made pasta everyday for the past two weeks. I finally found the perfect recipe for me, which is 100% semolina flour, 1 egg, salt, 1-2 tablespoons water for spaghetti or linguine.Durability: This attachment is very heavy duty with no plastic parts. You'll notice the weight of it. It's not heavy, it's heavy duty.At first the pasta ran through the attachment, cutting like a dream, but I found with large batches the dough sticks enough to come back around. Very annoying. I tried sprinkling the dough with more flour, sprinkling the machine with flour, sprinkling both with flour, but still the pasta gummed up in there. I'm sure I need a drier dough, but too dry has issues, too.In defense of the attachment, for any machine to function, I'm sure the dough must have the correct moisture content to pass through, but a drier dough was cracky. I am as much into texture as I am taste, so I might have better luck rolling it all out by hand and cutting it. I once purchased a machine for gnocchi, which I gave away because the texture I liked was too moist to pass through the die on the machine. In other words it wouldn't come out, and gummed up in there. That very well may be what I'm dealing with.I also want to point out that the moisture in the dough will determine if it's going to pass through any machine, including the motorized and stand mixer attachments. If the dough is too wet, it's not going to pass through the dies on those, either. It will gum up.Ease of Use: This is really easy to use and I think it is fun, too. I just love watching the dough stretch out, then cut into strips, falling to the counter in a pile. I'm getting faster every time I use it. Also, the shape is more rectangular and not so funky looking. There are video's on YouTube to show you how they get it to come out in a nice wide strip, ready for the cutting; however, I'm certain they use a pastry wheel, because my edges never look like the ones in the pictures and I'm a perfectionist.Cleaning: Well, it's easier to clean if you let the pasta dry in there, then brush it out with a toothbrush. Otherwise, there are videos on line about using clay or something. When the dough gets stuck in there, you cannot roll it out by turning the handle. Even if you sprinkle it with flour, gummed up dough will not come out. If I were to try to clean it immediately after use, I'd never use it again. Way too much trouble. Remember, the dough gummed up a bit. I'm sure when I get the dough correct, the problem will be resolved.Overall: Two weeks before I purchased this, I purchased a Weston hand crank pasta maker. I've given it to my daughter. The spaghetti attachment that comes with both machines, did not seem nearly as durable, although they connect the same way. For all I know they may be nearly the same. I'm no expert. It seems that the Marcato has better cutting ability. I do like the machine and this attachment. The alternative is to roll it out and cut it by hand.

There are over 100 styles of pasta noodle so a second attachment is a good idea.
Naturally we have the Marcato Atlas Pasta maker with the hand crank which we frequently use. While the machine comes with an attachment that provides cutting for two sizes of pasta, this attachment gives yet another thickness. These all are easily fit in to slots on the base machine and, once the machine is set up and pasta is being made, there is no problem in switching to another type of pasta. All these pieces are heavy, well made, sturdy, easily cleaned and long lasting. Once the buyer starts grinding out home made pasta, it not only gets easier but done more often, more fun and gets more complements. A glass of wine goes nicely too.
