The System

First time purchase from this artist. This is a sonically and lyrically brilliant album. Leaning towards roots reggae, this is classic lovers rock reggae with Romain being an absolutely awesome vocalist without resorting to voice boxes or other tricks. The rhythms are classic roots bass and guitar without any electronics so common in new reggae music.I have nothing to compare to his other albums since I do not own any other of Romain Virgo's, but this is really a great album to just skank and relax to.Highly recommended artist.

Some good songs some not so good songs 50/50... His newer work is better if u ask me.

You take a punt buying the 2nd album of an artist whose debut effort you love. Can they do it again?I took that chance with "System" - good move! He's gone from strength to strength, and with 1st-class backing, continues to sing it how he sees it. Smooth and flawless, Romain moves through tunes which will stay on my playlist for ever. Everyone will have their favourites, but for me the jewels in his crown are'Minimum Wage','Another day another dollar','I Know better' and 'Food fi the plate' which morphs nicely into 'Dem a coward'. Busy Signal puts his stamp on 'Broken Heart' which seals the deal for me.

To all Romain Virgo fans that loved his album as I did his recen work will be a let down its has a few moments but overall every song sound the same as far as the melody and tempo but if you love reggae music you can listen to it straight though but not frequently

If you love dancehall you will definately like this. Would definately recommend to a dancehall music lover. Romain Virgo at his finest.
