Good bang for your buck
So I was thinking. The reason that I wasn't catching fish, must be that I need better equipment. I'd been hearing good things about these reels from a custom rod builder that I know, and decided to give it a try on the new crappie rod that I was building. I was very impressed with the quality that it appears to be. It runs buttery smooth, quiet and is very lightweight. I've never had any other $50 reel (Black Friday deal) that comes close to the quality feel of this. All seemed to be right with the world until I took it out to the lake. I didn't catch one fish. Not even a nibble... I was fooled by the quality feel of this reel, the smoothness of the action, the 11 bearings. Oh well, at least it is was only $50. Would've been six stars if it had caught fish.

Very nice reel, equal to the competition.
I am very impressed with the Piscifun 3000 spinning reel I purchased. For the value it looks good and has a better quality than expected. I really like the not too small or not too large eva handle knob. I will be putting it up against some of my other name brand reel makers (Daiwa, Shamino, Penn, Bass Pro Shop) in the same size category. I may get back with you on that with a comment. But as for now, it has a good sturdy fill, cast and retrieves well. Thanks.

Great lightweight reel, line holder is frustrating
Decent reel, but the first version is better… I got the 1000 size since I am a dedicated crappie angler. I have used both versions for a few years now. The carbon x 2 the line holder on the spool is annoying. My (mono) line gets caught in it midcast quite a bit. Frustrating as heck. May see if I can just pull it off. Also I don’t know why they don’t just put an anti-reverse switch on the 1000 like the rest of the sizes. Normally don’t need it for panfish, but there’s always a shot at a big pike or whatever and being able to back-reel would be nice, instead of just loosening the drag and causing line twist if done often. The only other complaints are the spools have cut out areas, to save on weight I’m guessing or for a cool looking design. But if you do a lot of bank fishing near sand, I can see it getting inside easily, unless you’re very careful. I kayak fish and it hasn’t been an huge issue though. First version is also now turning bronze colored around the spool from too much sun exposure. But I fish 5 days a week and keep my gear in my vehicle.Positives: They are pretty lightweight and the drag system is smooth. If you can get them on a sale it’s worth the money. Price says $69 currently, wouldn’t purchase again at that price. You can usually purchase on the Piscifun website and get 10-20% from discount codes on YouTube video descriptions or on Facebook ads.

Super light and smooth
Very smooth retrieve and very light. Handles light trolling well and the performance fighting fish is excellent

It's a budget reel. Not super exciting.
I own my fair share of reels, these are very nice reels for what you pay for. They don't compare to a mid tier reels on the market like; Penn, Diawa, or Shimanos. You're paying for a budget reel. They are nice, not top tier nice. Still reliable and does more than enough for the weekend warriors. For those that think buying this will catch you more fish, your a fool. I have a few of the carbon series not cause they are super good, but as loaners and just to have some fun setups. I'd continue to buy more cause they are very budget friendly. The cost to buy one nice reel you can buy 4 or 5 of these reels. And I have 8 of the carbon series. So if you're starting out or even an avid fisherman this is a great reel to have for hard, fresh, and salt waters. I've only had one issue with a wobbly spool out of the box. So either it was a return or there was some quality control issues. Nothing I couldn't fix myself.

I keep buying more.
The drag is very smooth smooth, the reel is durable and lightweight. I’ve bought two more since purchasing this one. I have to believe all the great reviews are accurate and to is reel will live up to its reputation. If you go through Piscifun you’ll get points toward future purchases. Even thought ordering here comes from Piscifun you won’t get points.

Nice first impression but…
Unboxed the reel and it looks and feels really nice. Screw in handle, smooth retrieve, all black looks sweet. Spooled up with 15lb powerpro, took it fishing. This is when I noticed there was a problem. When reeling under any resistance, such as working a paddle tail lure on a 1/8oz jig head, there is a resistance that is very noticeable. Tried it with many different types of lures- spoons, hard baits, weightless soft baits. Same result. The resistance is super annoying. It’s only there when reeling the line in. If just testing the reel with line on the spool and the line isn’t run through the guides of the rod, it’s really smooth. Almost like the reel can’t handle minor tension or it struggles. I tried adding reel oil everywhere you’re supposed to, including the roller bearing thinking this was the issue, same result. Decided to order another carbon x II, they’re cheap enough. Same problem! Tried ordering the original carbon x. Same thing! I fish a lot and have many different brands of reels. Decided to tie a 1/4 oz weight to the carbon x I and II’s as well as some okuma and Penn reels I have. Made some casts in the yard or even just dangled the weight in the air and reeled the weight up. The okumas and penns didn’t have this resistance but all the carbon x’s did. I returned the carbon x I and kept the carbon x II’s. I figured I can use them for throwing livebait/cutbait only because I already put line on them and actually fished with them. They’re just no good for throwing lures as the resistance makes it difficult to fish.UpdateThe company reached out and refunded my purchase. I gave the product an extra star because of this. Also, I’ve used the reel now for a total of maybe 10 times. Still functions the same as when I first used it. It gets the job done, just better options available for artificial use.

Nice quality
I have been looking for a lightweight real that I can use for pan fishing. I saw some reviews on YouTube about the carbon x II. The reviews were very favorable so I took a chance and ordered one size1000. Wow wasn't expecting that build quality it was fairly smooth. It seems the more I use it the smoother it gets. It's going to be hard to beat the bill quality for the price that you're paying.

Piscifun makes fishing fun.
The media could not be loaded. This Piscifun spinning reel is up to par with some of my other reels that cost two to three times the price of what I paid for this reel. It came packaged in a box with foam protection, a parts and instructions manual, a handy velvety pouch which contained the reel, and the handle which was wrapped in bubble wrap. Also included are two small washers, which I have no idea what they are for. The washers seem too small to be for the drag. I won't get into the specs of the reel because you can find them on the side of the box or online. What I believe to be the selling point of this reel is it's weight and materials used to build it. Carbon is a very strong but light material, that is why you will find supercars are mostly made using carbon Fibre. This reel can be used for long periods of time without getting sore hands, wrists, or arms. I recommend pairing this reel with a light rod , what's the use of having a light reel if your fishing rod is heavy, it defeats the purpose. The rod I paired it with is also carbon fiber. Line retrieve is very smooth, the bail arm is not easy to engage by turning the handle, but no big deal. I trip it manually. The drag is very smooth, and the drag wheel has audible clicks, casting is good, spooled it with 8 lb mono. There is also a reverse switch on the bottom of the reel. The reel handle sports Eva foam grips for added comfort and a no slip grip. This Piscifun reel exceeded my expectations, and is as good if not better than some reels that cost three to four times more. Time will tell how well this reel holds up.

Edit: They sent me a new reel!
The first one of these reels that I bought was flawless until I followed a YouTube video directly from Piscifuns channel that instructed me to remove a metal clip to maintenance it which resulted in it bending the clip. The reel no longer functioned as smooth due to the bushing no longer being properly secured. I returned it.The second one lays line unevenly and is missing a washer that the first one had that this one does not. And adding shims would serve no purpose anyways, to fix the issue I'd have to remove more shims/washers but there is none left to remove; the issue is a tolerance issue with the machining of the aluminum spool. If it wasn't for these two things, the first one partially being my fault: I'd give these reels five stars. The drag is so smooth, and the carbon fiber body is very sturdy. These reels are very solid, but are in need of some better assembly/tolerance quality checks.

Updated: Clunky: Got a new one and this one is worth the money I spent!
Got a replacement reel and this new one is much better, works exactly as it should for the money! Fantastic reel!So far I prefer my piscifun Viper that costs much less. The line had got caught on the line keeper on the spool a few times, it's also gotten caught under the little wedge piece that holds the bale wire on. I'm hoping it gets better with use.

Good looking reel, great customer service
Reel looks great and feels smooth but I’m not sure if I got a defective drag or if this one needs worked in. After lining the reel, the drag “works” however is not smooth in transitioning. Fully engaged works without a hitch, as you slowly loosen, it will allow for some line to be pulled with fairly decent tension, however the amount of tension needed does not change (as it should) as you loosen the drag, until the spool comes off. Like I said, maybe defective drag mechanism or maybe it needs to catch a fish first but seems to be defective to me.If it weren’t for that (as I’m not sure it’s defective for not) I’d be giving a 5 star for sure. My other 2 carbon x ii 1000 size reels are great. Will update review once I get it on the ice and can tell for sure if it is defective or not.Update: the seller reached out and we indeed confirmed the unit received was defective. They offered a refund or to ship out a proper working one. Fantastic customer service, the other 3 reels I’ve got work fantastic and glad to see them stand behind their product when bad product slips through QC. The other reels have been fantastic and I’m sure the new one in the mail will perform as such too.

Best reel bang for buck
I have been replacing all my reels with the Carbon X.They have a nice drag system and are very light. Better than some of my expensive reels, and far superior to any other brands in the same price range. Now to try the X II and see if it hold up to the previous X
