It taught me a tun of stuff I did not know about technology and also how I should stay safe in the digital world

My 11-year-old fifth grader loves this book and declared that she wants all the books in this series. She already has several others and they seem perfect for girls 8 to 12 . We also have the Care and Keeping of You which helped my daughters realize they want to take more care of their personal hygiene. We have the feelings book, the friend book, and we just got the middle school book for my daughter who is entering sixth grade next year. All parents should take time to have conversations with their kids about using the Internet and staying safe in the digital age. It's just as important as the old sex talk these days. But kids are reluctant to hear admonitions from parents. This book opens the door to those conversations and serves as a back up or reinforcement to parents concerns. Frankly, I bet a lot of parents don't even realize how important it is to talk to kids about their media consumption, passwords, and not meeting up with strangers they meet on the Internet. This book will at least help kids be better aware of risks, appropriate behavior, and will serve as a resource and reference when they encounter something that adults didn't prepare them for.

Great information for girls!

Another great book from AG! This was a good conversation starter for my daughter and me. I liked that it allowed us to have open dialogue about these topics so she now understands why we have limits on digital activity and how to navigate the digital world. This is a critical life skill that we have to give our kids before they leave the nest. The earlier we start these conversations, the easier it is to influence and guide our kids!

Great for a beginner intro to being kind on the Internet. I had my 12 year old read this before allowing her to get a phone. She is still not allowed to get on any social media sites but it is still good to learn about how your words can impact other people.

I got this book for my 14year old and she really enjoyed it. She kept coming to me and asking if I knew this or that about the internet and it kept her very engaged. She read the book in a week and is requesting more!

Very good for 12 year old girls.

Cercavo un libro per la sicurezza online per mia nipote di 9 anni, e trovarne uno in italiano è stato impossibile, non si trova niente del genere sul mercato italiano ed è un peccato.Fortunatamente lei conosce l'inglese ed apre tutt'altro mondo per quanto riguarda i libri, quindi le ho preso questo libro della linea American Girl, di cui sono già a conoscenza per i loro prodotti educativi, ed è davvero un ottimo libro, e malgrado il nome, consigliato anche ai maschietti, l'unica pecca è che avrebbe bisogno di un piccolo aggiornamento su alcuni argomenti come Tiktok, e video dannosi come DIY e abuso su gli animali mascherato come intrattenimento, spesso indirizzati a un pubblico giovane e come segnalare quel genere di contenuti, ma fa il suo dovere, un vero peccato che libri essenziali come questi non siano comuni nel nostro paese, ma se avete bambini che sanno l'inglese consiglio l'acquisto di questo libro

It’s great love these kind of books

This series of books is wonderful and I have bought lots of them for my almost 12 year old daughter. Although they are written for the USA market and some of the words or phrases aren't necessarily what we would use in the UK, the advice is sound, appropriate and there is a strong emphasis on respect and kindness toward yourself, your friends and your parents throughout the series. I cannot recommend them enough. This book covers setting up strong passwords, asking your parents permission for apps and making sure your personal and location data is not revealed as well as online etiquette.
