Cam Guardian by Guardian Hunting is the best trail camera lock to reduce trail camera theft. How Does it Work? 1) Simply remove the existing nylon strap and insert the trail cam lock black steel band in its place. 2) Wrap around a tree, insert the band's end back into the block and tighten the locking screw. 3) Push the band down on the tree until tight, set your camera and walk away. The band is black coated steel banding with an aluminum 2 piece housing. The band is secured tightly with a unique star patterned wrench with a center pin. Key is L-shaped and screw will not accept standard star wrench. (If you loose your key, Guardian Hunting can provide a replacement.) Most people aren't thieves, but why give them the opportunity? Not all locks are alike...
Only one of these arrived in working condition. The other two... one of them was much shorter than 3ft. The other looked to be the right length. The biggest issue with these two was that the screw that holds the metal in place was TOO SHORT! The screw doesn't even come out the other side of the locking mechanism! So the locks are unusable. I don't mind a short lock (there are small trees out there) but when I'm totally unable to use it... obviously there's an issue.

Someone can cut the band but they would need a good pair of wire cutters
We installed these on game cameras where we previously had one stolen. Hopefully, these will keep the other cameras safe. I do wish that we had more than one tool to unlock them, but will probably order some to put on other cameras which will result in additional tools. The "key" is just a special tool to lock/unlock. Someone can cut the band but they would need a good pair of wire cutters.

Not really a good lick
The lock nuts are not long enough unless I’m locking it wrong. With no instructions it’s hard to know.

Only comes with one ‘key’
Great lock. Very secure. I would have given it a five except for the fact that it only comes with one ‘star key’ and if you misplace it like we did you’re #%*#. We now have no way to move the cam. Still trying to figure out how to get another key without having to buy another lock we don’t need.
