Main purpose is emergency meal! Not bad in general
I got them for the good price and honestly for curiosity and fun. Went through couple so far (Beef Brisket, Chicken noodles) and I am really surprised. The package is really good. They are still in good shape. In the Chicken Noodles there was matches (which is not supposed to be). The flame-less heater works perfectly. The food is above average. Again, It would be perfect when in emergency (very hungry) but also good for just fun. The Beef brisket was fine! The Gratin was kind of salty (I don't like high salt in general) but everything else was just perfect. Cappuccino was perfect. I mean in general, this is like fancy MRE! I will be ordering more for sure. Trying more flavors.

Pretty much lunchables for adults (in a good way)
This was the first ration pack I bought, so I wasn't sure what to expect, I wasn't expecting fine dining, but I was pleasantly surprised by the taste of these. Especially since it's like $6-$7 a full meal.I haven't had any so far that I would consider bad (I have only eaten 1-7 though), with the exception of the garlic mashed potatoes in the meatball ration (I just mixed it with the meatballs, and it was fine). The only complaint, is that a few of the ration heaters were completely sealed at the top, and would rip along the side rendering them useless if you tried opening them after cutting off the top. I got around this by simply putting only water in the FRH, and sandwiching it between the heatable ration items inside the cardboard heat guard. This is also the best method of heating multiple hot items I've found so far, as having too much packed inside the FRH smothers the chemical reaction, and the ration heater will only start to really heat up AFTER the food is supposed to be done. All in all, a worthwhile purchase, it'll last you a long time on the shelf, the spoons can be reused and added to your silverware, and it maintains it's flavor even if it's cold.

Decent.
They were pretty good. They all seem to come with everything they were supposed to and none of them were damaged. The only 2 problems I had was the flameless ration heaters weren't strong enough to heat my coffee and my mains so I had to heat the coffee water seperatly. The other problem was all the mixed fruit in heavy syrup smelled like cheese so I didn't eat those.

Fantastic.
It's exactly what you expect. Fresh, decent variety, and perfect for camping trips, survival, or when you just don't feel like cooking. Going to work, and don't want to pack a lunch? Grab an MRE! Nobody's stopped me yet! You kids got it lucky with your MREs... back in my day, it was C-Rations... Ham and Limas... sure, it'll get you through the day, but it sure as hell wasn't a treat... oh, and don't get me started on the K-Rats, and those stale cigarettes pack back in WWII! Two puffs, and it was gone! You had to lick the tips! LICK THE TIPS! Where was I? Oh yeah, so the important part is, I had an onion on my belt, as it was the style of the day, now, I had to use a brown onion... we couldn't get the white ones, because of the war...

Brown Bag Specials
Not much to discuss with these. If you are a veteran or currently active military, you know all there is to know about MRE's if you are a civilian who has ever had the pleasure, then you already know. The shipping was fast and the price was competitive. Amazon does it again. Fast delivery and fair prices...These are going camping as soon as we can fo camping again. Well that's the hope anyway.

Great for earthquake preparedness kit.
I'm glad I don't have to eat these everyday, but I'm sure when an earthquake happens I'm going to be able to eat. I tried one packet out of the 12 just to sample it and it was pretty good. The heating pads aren't great but they get the food to about a lukewarm temperature. I ended up microwaving the rest of the food but otherwise it was quite yummy and I really enjoy all the extra goodies that comes with the meal.

Tastes ok for field rations, but incorrectly packed & a FRH didn't work. Overall: decent value
I bought these MREs because I'm a nostalgic (& slightly eccentric) army veteran who thinks MREs do not taste as bad as their reputation suggest. Overall, it was decent value, but the box I got had a few flaws that ultimately resulted in this 3-star rating.Value for $: overall, $99 for a box of 12 meals (or ~$8.25/unit) is a decent price, considering the per unit cost is usually in excess of $9 at least, & could go as high as $15/unit for a single meal. That said, after opening the package, I see why it was marked down:Content packaging: The menu items are incorrect & not what I expected from the "Case A" menu list. There were items from the "case B" list, & there was also 2 beef spaghetti meals (there should never be the same meal twice in a correctly packaged box of MREs).Quality: One of the flameless ration heaters (FRHs) didn't seem to work, I place water in the pouch as instructed but there was no reaction - quite disappointing. I hope not all the FRHs are like this one, otherwise I'm coming back to give a much lower rating. After unboxing these MREs, I can see why this was sold as "surplus" to consumers rather than to the military.

Worth it! Well thought out box!
I received the A case, I forgot to look for the option to choose cases, regardless, I am very happy with the A case selection! My previous mre box from another seller was all duplicates and triplicate. This box has none of that, the mre packs are all different, no doubles! I have not tested one but when I do I will update my review to reflect how it was. Packaging all good, no punctures, arrived fast with regular shipping. Will buy again from this seller! Again, fantastic selection!
