I read alot of the reviews about this and there are some quite negative ones. However, I read them carefully and came to the conclusion that some people are a bit picky. I received this bench, very well packaged. I really can't complain about how tidy it was packed and the polystyrene around the parts. As with anything flat packed, you do need to understand how to put a lego set together. Having a lego set when you were a child would be a bonus for understanding the instructions. The instructions are very clear if you read very carefully and ensure you take notice of what parts go where and what screws to use where. It's not difficult to understand, but just requires being organised and ensuring you understand the parts before putting it together. If you do that, it's a breeze. Some people have complained about left over plastic on some parts from the injection mould. In all honesty, when you buy anything that is injection moulded you should expect a little thin left over plastic. Mine did have this in one or two small places, but it is so thin that it is easy to break off.Some people have complained about parts and screw holes not aligning up. This storage bench has some parts that require screws and some parts that require a push and clip mechanism. And then there are some parts that require both. I will admit, some of it does take a bit gentle of elbow grease, but if you buy it with that in mind, knowing you may have to put a little effort into putting it together then you won't be disappointed. The fact is, as long as you ensure all the parts are clipped in or screwed in correctly, then everything will go together fine. You shouldn't have to use modification techniques like some have mentioned. That just smells of the nightmare DIY enthusiast more like a nightmare on elm street. You shouldn't have to force anything during the build process, but you will have to apply gentle pressure on some parts to get them to clip in. I gently banged some parts with the ball of my hand without any need to force and they went in perfectly.Once put together, patiently, the bench is very sturdy. It will easily take the weight of two people, maybe three and maybe your dog if you have one. It looks damn good, and is an excellent alternative to a wooden bench. Better still, you can wash it down without it affecting the wood, as its not wood.There is heaps of storage space. I have fitted my petrol strimmer, garden tools and some other tool bags in so far, and I still have tons of space.I really recommend this to anyone looking for a good looking alternative to a wooden storage bench. The wooden ones I looked at were £300/£400, this is just under £80. So really a bargain.And if you don't use it for garden tool storage, you could use it to store cushions or anything else you use outdoors in the summer months. If you don't use it for storage at all, then it is lightweight considering the size. If you go caravanning then, providing you have space in your caravan. You could stick this inside while you travel, and use it wherever you park up.All in all, brilliant. All I can think is the other people who complained, were either being picky, or didn't read the instructions correctly and used the wrong parts in the wrong places. Worse still, got their electric drill and chainsaw out to it. If you do that, then what can you expect.

Really simple to put together, should be 2 person build but I did it by myself with ease. Sturdy once built and decent lockable storage ( you will need a padlock ).

This is a really great bench, plenty of storage space; looks good and really sturdy once constructed BUTthe plastics that the bench is made from seem to become very brittle when they are cold. I started to assemble the bench when the temperature was 4 or 5°C and the plastic housings and clips on the back just shattered.On reflection, I perhaps should have waited for warmer weather - but it was a Christmas present, and UK Christmases are ( usually) cold. Keter gave no warning in the instructions about warming the plastic parts before assembly.In fairness, I contacted Keter and they supplied replacement parts promptly and without hesitation - but they perhaps need to offer guidance in the assembly instructions.

Great quality easy to build loads of storage and comfortable to sit on.

Great bench with storage. I initially wanted wood but after nothing that suited I went for this and I'm really happy with it. The colour is nice and with the faux wood design the style fits well.It was easy to build, I did it alone in about 30 minutes, plenty of storage inside to I can store stuff, metal for a padlock (but it's plastic so if someone wanted to get in it'd still be easy). And there's metal bars you screw inside so it feels sturdy even though it's plastic.There were some bits of plastic where it didn't set properly in the plastic mold, but that was a mostly inside so it still looks good

This bench is beautifully designed and the storage is perfect for all my gardening equipment. I would definitely recommend for a back garden. Assembly was easy enough with the instructions and all the codes on the parts was very helpful.

Decent, easy to put together, good value, sturdy

Serves a purpose with storage for garden items such as water cans hoses toys etc certainly wouldn't be using this to store soft furnishings etc a bit like purchasing a new shed with a leaking roof, I would also recommend that you cover this bench during the winter period due to frost and rain water Ingres's which could be a problem.Apart from this you can actually sit on this as long as there is no puddle in the middle as the heat warps the seating area.The bench is pretty average in use for British weather conditions as there is no weather sealing what so ever applied under the seating area but it can be done with some door push on seal strips no skills required it's a bit odd that they can't supply this as part of the package.Would I recommend this item? yes only if you are after some storage area as I did or if you are prepared to do some work on sealing the lid area.
