In my experience they really do work but think .....
I started using these after a recommendation from a friend, and noticed a significant improvement in the lawn. Then, slowly I saw patches appearing on the lawn, and having read many mixed reviews, I used them on and off for a few years (maybe continuing to use them, but not replacing them as often), with mixed results. That said, I stopped using them completely for 3 months and REALLY noticed a difference in the lawn i.e. a LOT more burn patches, which led me to think about why they maybe were not working when I was using them. Simple answer - ALL of the dogs water sources need to be treated, and the tangible difference in effectiveness on my lawn also coincided with ... installing my ponds. My dog drinks out of the pond, drinks from plant pot saucers, drinks from containers in the garden that have filled with rain water, and she drinks from the bottle I take out when we go for long walks - filled straight from the tap. Duh! Basically, she will drink from everywhere except the treated water if she has the option - not because it has dog rocks, but because the other sources all probably taste nicer not originating from the tap!Since I've removed the other options, and now fill her walkies drinking bottle from an old water filter jug that now contains dog rocks and not a Brita filter (note to guests, use the fridge for drinking water not the Brita jug) .... no lawn burn at all.I don't doubt these rocks may not work for all dogs, but when my dog drinks primarily from 'dog rock water' (I'm never going to stop her slurping puddles and the like!) the burn is absolutely minimal. My advice - use dog rocks and think about the other water sources available to your dog and try to treat or minimize them. This is the reason I give them 5 stars overall but only 3 stars for ease of use - its not the product, its the nature of our dogs!

Hit and miss
I've been using Dog Rocks for several years now and I keep using them because when they work they are brilliant - no yellow patches in my lawn, no dead patches.BUT I have found that whatever it is in the rocks that gives them superpowers is unreliable. Some rocks are brilliant and work very well, whereas others have no effect whatsoever. To be honest, when I realise I've got a dud pack I just bite the bullet and buy another pack and it's usually OK.I guess that the 'magic' in these stones is natural and, as such, is not quality controlled and is therefore purely hit and miss. It would also explain why some people find them useless yet others find them miraculous. I have decided that the cost of a packet (high though it is) is less than the cost of a new lawn.

Too big for the bowl...
I've purchased these before and have been more than pleased with them.. However, this time the rocks are too big. Normally I put them in my dogs water dispenser but as you can see from the photos this is not possible. As they are so big the water doesn't cover them... I've tried a couple of bowls. The mess my dog makes licking around the rocks is not good.Bring back small rocks as they defiantly do work.

They actually work; 5+ years in of using these!
With a Great Dane and, until we had to say goodbye to him at Christmas, a cocker spaniel, our garden sees - shall we say - a LOT of err “attention”!!All I can say is that I have no idea how but these work!!!Brown stains on the lawn disappeared entirely within just a few days; we’ve been using them for about five years now and the difference they make is insane - and weirdly, we know when we need to replace them as after maybe 12 months or so, we start seeing brown stains again. Change the rocks and the stains disappear in days!Note that we inadvertently purchased a different brand recently and realised immediately our mistake as that was more like gravel. These are much larger rocks and don’t fall apart.Don’t be disappointed at paying for what appear to be three or four large pjeces of gravel - these genuinely absolutely work!Pic of the dog … if they can handle him, they can handle anything!!!

Don’t bother waste of money
They don’t work at all. Wouldn’t waste your money. A bit like fools gold and I feel a fool for buying them.Using them for a couple of weeks now and hasn’t made the slightest difference. My lawn is more scorched than a Glaswegian who’s been in the desert for a month

Well worth the try.
These work!

Didn’t work for us and we tried for 9 months with a few orders in this period. Grass is dead.
We don’t rate these as the grass is totally dead in place where our female dog urinates. One of the rocks is always huge and one tiny one - not sure if that’s the norm.

They do appear to work
Bought these under duress, my wife wanted them. I argued with my wife (I really should just accept that I am wrong) as I could see reason why putting stone in the water bowl would stop the dogs killing the grass. But for the time we were using these there was a noticeable difference in the garden. I don't know how these work but they do.Stopped using as, at the end of the day, it works out excessively expensive just for a bit of lawn.
