Alright but not motivating much. Have not finished still.

This book is amazing. I have never written a review before but this got me inspired.I have read a LOT of books about eating disorders and recovery over the years.It's a brilliant concept to have the story/recovery combined with the clinician side. Seriously brilliant.My disorder would usually get triggered in someway by just reading the 'memoir-y' recovery stuff - and the clinician stuff was too dry and removed from my experience. So I would never finish the book.It's great to hear Robyn's side of the story (which I find parts to relate to) and then Espra puts it in context of recovery and healing.I thought the concept of the book was interesting so I wanted to check it out - but I thought it was just going to be so I could suggest it to others who are still suffering in the disorder.But guess what? I am getting a ton out of it.It is reinforcing the 9 years of recovery that I have had from an eating disorder in ways I could never have imagined.By page 43 I discovered that I have had unrealistic ideals around what recovery 'should' look like.They busted that image and I truly know a new freedom and pride.I love the inclusion of the words "most of the time" when they describe what a healthy relationship with food/body looks like - wow - my recovery needed to hear that!!!This book has the power to help a lot of people - no matter where they are in the recovery process.I thank Robyn and Espra for sharing their truth and experience so honestly.

I have had the pleasure of personally reading this book and applying its principles to my own life. I have also been able to recommend this book to clients struggling with co-occurring disorders such as substance abuse, anxiety, and depression. This book is an easy read and supports intuitive eating and a realistic, non-restrictive approach to recovery.

This book was extremely helpful. Just about to start reading it again!!

I work with clients struggling with Eating Disorders and have already given copies of this book out to clients. I like the model Espra and Robyn have created and clients have responded well to it as well. The book incorporates many evidenced based practices and ties them together into a comprehensive treatment plan. It is well written and easy for both practitioners and clients to read and understand. I would highly recommend this book.

Good strategies for ones with eating disorders.

I ordered the book after hearing about Espra (one of the authors) from my wife. What an amazing book for anyone battling addiction of any kind as well as the loved ones fighting along side them. It's an inspiring and educational read that will give you the confidence to keep moving forward whether it's an eating disorder or any other addiction.

Great book with an easy to read format. I loved all the useful, practical tools that are included. Definitely a must have for your eating disorder library!
