Pravana Chromasilk Pastels Long Lasting Color, Luscious Lavender Hair Color for Unisex, 3 Ounce

Hair was lifted to a 9 and toned to a white/grey color. Left color on for about 5 hours under a cap. Rinsed with cold water, DID NOT SHAMPOO. Hair came out as expected! A pure luscious lavender color. It's been 2 weeks now, I've washed my hair twice (I use Redken sulfate-free), and color is still just as if I just dyed it. However after each cleanse, I did a deep conditioning hair mask that had LITERALLY a pea sized amount of Pravana Violet mixed into the whole container. I let that sit on my hair for 5-10 minutes.All these negative reviews about the color not taking or staying... Purple is one of the hardest colors to maintain, especially a light pastel color. You MUST have your hair lifted to platinum for this color to be what you want it to be. And the more you wash it, the more the color will come out. So be prepared to maintain, wash your hair as less as you can (or use dry shampoo), and get good quality sulfate-free products to not strip your color.

The first time I purchased Pravana Lucious Lavender I had the same experience as previous reviewers: disappointment and almost no color. I Googled Pravana Lucious Lavender and found out that there was a defective batch. I decided to give it a 2nd chance and tried again. This time and with all subsequent purchases the color is perfect and as shown. I absolutely LOVE it!

This dye did absolutely nothing to my hair. The dye itself looked translucent, like toner, and that's all it did to my hair. I left it in my hair for over an hour and when I rinsed it my hair was still blonde from bleaching it. I used two tubes of it because it was so translucent I thought that it wouldn't be saturated enough. But even after using all the product I got no result. No lavender in my hair whatsoever. Ion Brilliance's lavender is way cheaper and more pigmented than this. Total waste of money.

My sister, a professional hair colorist, did my hair for me, bleaching first, then using the pravana luscious lavender. The first few days the color was amazing and beautiful. Two weeks later I'm back to a fully bleached head because all of the color washed out completely. As the two weeks went on I watch as my hair faded each day. In two weeks I washed my hair twice only to preserve the color and in cold water. I was under the impression this color was a stain and would last. I bought a second batch to try again.

Love this, this is exactly what I wanted. I bought the lavender and violet. I basically read all the reviews about how people didn't like it because it didn't last long. I have used pravana for 5 years. Blue, violet, red, are very pigmented, so I knew adding the violer to the lavender, would make it a smidge darker, i have tried other brands. But they do not compare. Longativity has to do with how you take care of your hair, if you use hot water, yes your color will not last long, medium to cool is better for the health of your scalp anyways.. I basically used 2 whole tubes, and added 1/8 of violet and about 2 table spoons of conditioner. I did that since my hair was so dry, after it was bleached 2 rounds. From dark brown to bright tone blonde. My hair is super soft, I have had many compliments already, this purple is pretty and unique.

I actually really love this product but totally understand the disappointment of the other reviewers. The issue is their photo of the models "dyed hair" (which is just bad photoshop) is totally inaccurate. This product will make hair that is already a light bleach blonde into a greyish purple (a purple that leans much more towards blue than pink, and is desaturated). I knew the results this would give and for me it's EXACTLY what I wanted. I danced around my house with happiness over the color for a couple days.As another reviewer said, if you're looking for the color in the photo, you're much better off buying a more saturated lavender dye (pravana or special effects is good too) and mixing with conditioner to get the shade you want.I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 because as much as I love the color, it does fade from the more damaged parts of my hair faster than I'd like. When I was younger I used very vivid colors from special effects and it was much longer lasting.

Wonderful product! However, some info for you that I just learned through experience. I have about shoulder length hair and only bought one tube. I have fine hair, and it's not super thick, so I thought one would be enough. GET TWO, if your hair is shoulder length or longer.Also, the directions inside say to use on towel dried clean hair, which is what I did. I see in the questions that someone recommended using it on dry hair instead. I'm ordering two more tubes to do a do-over, and intend to try it dry this time. If that turns out to be a bad decision I'll update this review with that info. If there's nothing added after this line, take no news as good news!

Normally I'm a big Pravana fan. They're colors are true and long lasting. I understand that this color is a pastel, but it's so SO light that if your hair is anything but pure white, your results will be minimal. I used it on hair that was freshly bleached, with a bit of leftover blue tint on the ends. This shade of lilac was whisper light. If your hair is bleached and tinted perfectly white and you don't mind a color that last about 2 or 3 washes, dive right in. If you're looking for a longer lasting result and full coverage, try another shade of Pravana.
