I think it’s just to protect your phone…maybe?

Q: How do I contact someone for a replacement sticky? Mine is giving me problems

This is not what they say it will not stick no matter where you put it

Q: Does it swap over to different vehicles easily?

If you don’t use the sticky part of the cup it will swap easily. If you do use the sticky part it’s SUPER hard to take off. I learned that the hard way.
