Pro Elec 2 Way Gang Multi Plug Extension Mains Socket Adapter with 2x USB Charge Ports

Exploded with a loud bang and smell of smoke when I plugged my iPhone 8 into the USB socket (see photo). Maybe it drew too much power and blew the fuse - if so, what's the point of a USB plug that can't charge a modern iPhone?

What isn't made clear in the pictures is that the bit with two way socket a usb connectors is deeper than the flag and projects back beyond the face of the plug. If you have flush fitting sockets this adaptor will not engage properly in it, but will be tipped at an angle.

Works fine for both 13amp plugs and USB charging too.It would be better if the blue lamp by the USB ports wasn't quite so bright at night , but overall I'm happy with my purchase.
