Well insulated and robust
We bought this coolbox to take to 4/5 day festivals. Despite outside temperatures of 30 degrees plus (and inside the tent like an oven), the coolbox did its job very well and kept everything perfectly chilled for 3 days (we added further bags of ice on day 3). We froze 3 x 1litre water bottles to use as the ice packs and these still had ice in them on day 3 .. and that's despite the coolbox being opened regularly to take drinks and food out. The '5-day chilled' promise I'm sure would be accurate if the lid weren't being opened.Very sturdy piece of kit and large enough for 5 x 1 litre bottles, 20 plus cans, large carton of milk, two bags of ice and 4 day's breakfast foods and snacks.Really pleased with product.

It works just fine
Tough, decent size. We filled it with frozen water bottles and popped it in the back of the car for a week-long trip and it was still full of plenty of chilled and even frozen water at the end. We could buy cheese and so on during the day and keep them cool until ready to eat a few days later. It can be a little fiddly to use because the lid shuts quite firmly and does require the right grip to open. Some of the claims about it seem a little exaggerated -- we found it to be a good performer but don't recommend expecting miracles. If you don't put very cold things in it, or keep opening the lid, it won't stay cold for long. But for our use case it is great.

works well
well made. Keeps food cold for much longer than ordinary coolboxes. Only downside, the lid doesn't stay open by itself, which is a bit annoying

A great way to save food when defrosting the freezer
I unfortunately have a cheap basic fridge freezer that was left behind by the previous owner of my house and the freezer part can badly frost up.As I had to defrost the freezer and I didn’t want to waste the food as food should not be refrozen once defrosted, I decided to risk purchasing this 66 litre cool box plus 9 freezer blocks each measuring 16cm x 9cm x 2cm.At just after 6am on Sunday 2nd August 2020 (i.e. a warm summer’s day which was 23°C at the time in the house) I emptied the food in to the cool box and closed the lid.The ice in the freezer started to melt straight away quite rapidly and was clear after 2 hours so I started the freezer again and half an hour later it was cold enough to transfer the food back.So the moment of truth! Will the food still be frozen in the cool box!I opened the lid and hey presto the food had not thawed one single tiny bit so after putting the food back in to the freezer I left the freezer blocks in the cool box to see how long they would take to thaw. After 12 hours I opened the lid and the 9 freezer blocks had only partly thawed and so I put a thermometer in to the box and it measured 5.5°C which is quite impressive considering that it was only the freezer blocks holding down the temperature. At 6am the following morning all but one freezer block (this one was laid in the centre) had fully thawed and the temperature was 8°C.It does say in the instructions that you should use 400 grams of ice per 1 litre of space and I would guess this is how you would get 5 days of ice retention as the manufactures claim. All in all I am quite impressed and I plan to use the cool box for extra cold storage at Christmas at my parents’ house as their normal fridge gets full and they run out of space.

Cool box
August Bank Holiday kept camp meat frozen for 3 days then acted as a fridge for the last 2 days of the trip.

3 day Ice retention??? Only if you fill it with ICE!
Wanted a Yeti cool box and its 5 day Ice retention but couldn't stretch to the pricing and as I didn't need it to be bear proof in the UK I thought this was a reasonably priced alternative even though I'd lose 2 days on the retention side. I pre cooled this for a few days. Spending about £10 in ice cubes to get it to a sufficiently cool ambient temperature. There may have been some cubes of ice floating in the sea of water but not what I would call "retained". The outside temperatures were no hotter than 21 degrees C and I kept it out of direct sunlight and outside of the tent/camper during the daytime. If I could get my money back I'd spend it on something a bit more expensive and with a drain tap - because you are going to need it for anything over a day. There may be more ice retention if you fill the thing to the brim but you wouldn't fit anything else in. I was using 3 bags of supermarket ice. Very disappointing for its intended purpose of a multi-day weekend type camping trip.

Super cool freezer box!
Fantastic product! I bought it to store my dog’s frozen food pouches while travelling by car for two days and they stayed completely frozen for 48 hours until I could put them into a freezer. I can’t recommend highly enough. I did use frozen freezer boards with it, but as long as you keep it closed you will happily keep food frozen for a few days.

Not a patch on what it used to be.
We have a Coleman Cool Box which is more than 25 years old. It is excellent and still giving good service. This model feels flimsy by comparison but what is really annoying is that the lid does not stay propped open - the hinge does not allow for it. So taking things out and putting items in must be done with one hand while the other holds onto the lid. The old design allowed the lid to come off; it also had a handle that doubled up as a "lock" so as to secure the contents. The new box doesn't have this. But it did keeps our dairy produce chilled for 24 hours.
