DIMPLEX Black Finish Electric Fireplace Heater Insert

I read a lot of reviews before purchasing and shopped around to get a really great price. I am so happy with this insert. It does look more realistic in a darkened room than in bright daylight. Puts out just enough heat to take the chill off of our TV room but not too hot. Very cozy looking and makes me feel warm when it is running. Love that I can just push a button and have the look of a real fire without the mess and fear of stray sparks.

The media could not be loaded. So let’s start with the good. I gutted my gas log insert that we hated. For a couple years I had a 32” television in the fireplace and just ran you-tube videos. It looked great and even had the crackles. But when I did that, I didn’t seal the flue pipe and we had a cold draft. Wife always said “I wish it put out heat”. So I bought this and installed it, plugged the flue and there we go.I wish the remote had the ability to control the electric heat. In my case I have to take the screen off and flip the switches to get heat. I’m competent enough to wire a switch outside of the fireplace to operate the heat but I won’t touch it until the warranty is up.There is an arch in the black glass that is critical to the flame look. Unfortunately it stands out even in the dark fireplace. See video. With some light out see still picture.All in all, price being a factor, We are pleased with it so far.

I bought 2 of these. I put them in the fireplace so they were never moved. After one year one just quit working and now the second one stopped working. I loved these and had only one stopped working I thought about replacing it but now that 2 out of two stopped working I am going to find something else.

The media could not be loaded. This is attractive and is very realistic when "burning". It puts out heat and also has a setting without heat. It fits perfectly in my fireplace opening which was originally built in 1915 as a gas burner. I haven't used the remote.

I love the look and overall am happy, but it makes noise and is not conducive for sitting quietly.

This fireplace insert is awesome. Works great. Takes the chill out of the room. Absolutely love it!!

Product as advertised

The unit did finally show up - despite the damaged packing...it works well, but is bent at the base. It does not sit even - it's tilted - unven.
