DigiTech Whammydtv-01 DT Drop Tune Guitar Effects Pedal

I was going to buy the Digitech Drop..but saw this pedal just before I put the Drop in my Cart on Amazon.This pedal lives up to all the online hype. It tracks beautifully; does drop tune, whammy bar effects, guitar harmony, and other tricks. It sounds fine..Well worth the money and made by a very solid company. I several pieces of Digitech equipment including two Vocalist Live 4s, two Vocalist Live 5s, and a Vocalist Live Pro, Guitar Harmonizer, Stereo Jam Man, etc and all are excellent products and none have broken after years of constant use. Plus, the support has been good; they actually get back to you on questions about their products! Highly recommended!

This product is terrific for the following:1. If you play guitar along with MP3's with different tunings this is perfect. I download guitar backing tracks and some songs are tuned down a half step. This effect allows you to play along without grabbing another guitar or tuning all 6 strings down. Simply turn the dial down a half step and your ready to go. It work's very well.2. The whammy is great and allows you to dive bomb without getting out of tune. Not as easy to control as a tremolo bar, but does the job and you stay in tune.3. Although not a true harmonizer, the interval harmonies are fun as well.I would definitely recommend this product.

This pedal is everything it says and more. I originally bought it for the drop tune side. I play bass and sing in the Praise Team at my church. Our piano player is great at last minute key changes. It is not always easy for me to drop keys by just a few steps, and a capo is not always the right answer. Now I can change the key quick and easy. The true bypass is great. Keeps my tone clean and crisp. The Whammy side is a bonus. With adjustable whammy and harmony it is a lot to play around with. I use the one octave up on the the harmony side the most. With the two octave up whammy and the addition of a good distortion pedal I am the Jimmy Hendrix of bass guitar. Like I said, lots to play around with. Get this pedal and have fun.

I just got this from my wife as an early birthday present. I absolutely love it. First you don't just get the Whammy pitch shift you get a drop tune and chorus like effect (detune) too. I played several different songs and the drop tune feature tracks very good. I keep my guitars tuned to D sharp and it was nice to not have to re tune for every song. Even as I went past 3 steps it tracked well. I tried the detune with the drop tune and I got lots of clipping in the signal. It almost sounded like over compression (at least my setup). On a clean setting without the drop tune on the detune sounds wonderful. Its basically the Luxe pedal Digitech sells. Skip that pedal and grab this one with the extra features. The whammy feature is cool and give you that "Rage Against the Machine" solo sound Tom Morello is famous for. A gigging musician may want to invest in the Midi controller a 3rd party has released. It basically cycles through the presets with a foot controller so you dont have to bend over and do it by hand. I may invest in one at a later date.Overall this is a great pedal that allows you to drop tune without messing with your tuning pegs, gives you a chorus effect that's really cool and the whammy for a screaming solo sound.

I was going to buy the "Drop" but changed my mind and decided to upgrade from my Whammy 2 unit to this unit. I am really happy with the WhammyDT. I got a few more harmony option and the additional feature of being able to track the guitar up or down through various tunings (not just down) is really cool. It saves me a ton of time not having to retune my guitar to play along with various tracks. The digital tracking is hardly noticeable. Now from standard tuning, I can go down 1/2 step or whole step with a turn of the dial. I can also emulate a seven string guitar. Whenever I need to use the high B or E string, the bypass button is great for a temporary departure from the effect. It's like having a virtual capo. The harmony effects are just as great as before. Don't hesitate. Great purchase.

I don't rate many musical products on here. This thing meets the hype. Actually, it exceeds it. As a huge fan of Dimebag Darrell, I can confirm it can get that sound for you - that "Becoming" type sound. What's crazy is how much else this thing packs in, since it's not exclusively a whammy pedal. I won't get into all its details (instruction book breaks it down well) but suffice to say there's a ton of possibilities included. Add to that a well-made pedal that's built to last - easy 5 stars.

The pedal is great, even tunes down my basses. Harmonizer is pretty good, not bad, not an eventide or really even a TC but still, pretty good. The main even though, the whammy is rocks. Only problem was the power supply plug thing was dead on arrival, but looking through the interwebs that seems to be not much of a surprise. They shoud ship with a 1spot instead. I have a power supply that will do the correct range so I'm not going to send it back for another pos power supply that I could not trust.TLDR; the pedal work better than expected and while at times you will notice more artifacts than some much more expensive brands, it's pretty damn solid. Power supply is crap, DOA.
