Small, but great line cutting tool.
I'm a scuba diver with over 40 years of experience.I dive a minimalistic rig so there are very few areas to attach anything. This compact design allows for a slight modification on a shoulder strap.I have exited boats with high decks in heavy seas. The cutter stays in place. It doesn't move until you pull hard to relesse it. I use it to cut fishing lines or small nets I have been caught in with no problems. This is my second line cutter in 5 years. I was it and dry it like every piece of gear I own.Which brings me to my only negative point. You have to replace the entire system rather than just the blade. But for the price, it's an acceptable tradeoff.

There when you need it, out of the way when you don't
I bought one for me and one for my wife. Mine is attached on my left shoulder just over the low pressure inflator hose of my BC while my wife keeps hers ziptied to her BC under her right arm. Neither line cutter has come out of its case except when we've removed it. There is a click when the line cutter is inserted back into its case that lets you know it is fully seated. These are super sharp and the serrated edge makes short work of any line you might need to cut. My wife was unwilling to carry a dive knife but agreed to carry this, which gave me peace of mind given how easy it can be to run into fishing line when diving in some areas. I know this line cutter was more expensive than some but the quality of the product makes me believe it will likely last the rest of my life. Also, there was no rust on the blades after a week of daily diving after purchasing these.

Great cutter, but the sheath doesn't completely cover the blade.
I was looking for a tool to cut a rigging or climbing line in an emergency for arborist/tree climbing activities. Most other cutters looked too small to sever a 1/2 inch or greater rope. The pros:- Definitely large enough to handle 1/2 inch rope- Sturdy construction and feel- Has a sharp, serrated edge- The handle feels safe (in other words, I don't feel like I'll cut myself when using it)My biggest complaint is that the sheath does not completely cover the knife! I wanted to store this exposed on my harness so it would be easily accessible, however I won't because I worry that either my fingers or ropes will slip into the small gap and be cut.Another reviewer mentioned that it was difficult to remove from the sheath, and that the sheath left a black mark on the cutter. I also experienced this, but in my opinion neither are a problem. It's good that it requires some force to pull from the sheath, it stops you from accidentally doing so. As for the black marks, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. It's an emergency use tool (or at least a work tool) not an art piece.

Four Stars
Very easy to cut through fishing line.

Five Stars
Very simple and nice cutter. I wish the strap slot was wider, but it's still functional.

Do Not Buy
This is a terrible product. The blade cuts like a spoon. Making it a pain in the ass on the surface and life threatening in the water. They make you add at least one star. So they get one star because you get exactly what is pictured.

Was perfect size to be available but not noticeable when not ...
I never had to use, but took it on 15 dives, attached by the ring on the hook, and the sheath never came off. Was perfect size to be available but not noticeable when not needed. I was glad to have.

Somewhat useful but could be much better
The build quality of this thing is so cheap that its practically a single use item. Still worth carrying in the off chance that you need it in an emergency situation but definitely not worth $20.Pros:-Made it Italy and not in China-Compact-Great retention in sheath-Finger loop reduces risk of droppingCons:-The deepest part of the hook was not sharp at all. The serrated part is okay. Expect to do some sawing if you actually need to cut something with it.-Steel is soft. Rolled an edge just trying to cut paracord. Noticeably duller after cutting paracord.
