Perfect fit
Is compact unit holds the recycling bag tightly and it fit well under our sink attached to the cupboard

It's made very well, but..not even close to holding a gallon. Had to send it back.

So sorry to say this bin did not work out. The lid would not close tight. I contacted the seller, but got no response. so I just returned it.

It won't be on my counter
This came with no instructions really. it did come with a way to hang it in a convenient location. I started using it and left it on the counter thinking that if I liked it I would like for a place to hang it. However the scraps inside pretty quickly started to stink so I did not want it on my counter. I moved it to the refrigerator which kept the odor down. However it it large and if I have to keep it in the refrigerator I can do that with a smaller container and dispose of them when it is time for the trash to go out or put them on the compost pile later. This did not solve my problem of having fruit flies when I am eating a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables. Further when I was using it the lid did not stay open for me to put the scraps in the bin. Perhaps I was doing something wrong but with no instructions I just did not know if I was using it correctly or not.

Lid won't shut
The lid doesn't latch and doesn't shut all the way so odors and fruit flies are constantly escaping from it. Disappointing.
