Q: Do you have to get the base station with it?

No you don't have to get the base station if you are only planning to use the remote's IR functionality. The base station is a nice addition if you prefer not to point the device at the equipment while executing a macro or if the equipment that you are controlling is out of the line of sight of the remote control.

Q: I need this remote but my legal ccp software stopped syncing when pc updated to win 10. How do i resolve so i can purchase?

Try opening the program through as administrator. That’s what I had to do when I switched to windows 10 and it works fine, otherwise it won’t open.

Q: how i can get programming software?

The programming is proprietary and not only difficult to get, but is not user friendly. I recommend having URC-certified programming
