Worth your time
This book makes a lot of sense. It’s very easy to read and takes you through the reasoning behind the changes Dr Lin suggests people should make to their diet to benefit not just the teeth but the whole body. It’s very much a meat eaters diet. As someone who will eat fish (because I personally believe you have to be extra vigilant to get all the essential vitamins and minerals required for a healthy diet if you are vegetarian or vegan, and I’m not), I can adapt the diet to get all the necessary nutrients. True vegetarians and especially vegans may struggle but it could/should be possible.Whatever the ethics of your chosen diet it’s worth a read.

it’s put together brilliantly, and is such an easy read too
What a find this book is! I read the whole book in two short days - I literally couldn’t put it down. The depth and breath of information presented in this book is phenomenal, it’s put together brilliantly, and is such an easy read too. Refreshingly, this is a dental health book that considers all aspects of human health and more importantly the interconnectedness of many of our systems, in addressing all this, Dr Lin work takes on a bio- psycho- social perspective! I can’t recommend it enough, this book is a must for everyone, whether you’re a dentist, health professional, or lay person - it’s something to sink your teeth into (sorry couldn’t resist the pun)

What we eat is so important
Found the book really interesting, but will not be participating fully in the diet, although I do agree with his way of thinking that what we eat has a huge impact on our whole body and health. It is just not that easy to buy and get all the natural foods. Perhaps if I was younger and had a family I would try harder, However before reading the book I had been trying to balance my gut microbiomes, eat less sugar, refined and processed foods, make and drink kefir and take VitD3. I use a toothpaste without sodium laurel sulphate and 3 or 4 times a week do oil pulling, rub coconut oil on my gums with some zylotol as well as using dental brushes and floss. Since doing this my gums have improved immensely and my dentist is extremely pleased with me!

Best scientific book on weak gums so far
Some good scientific explanations about what goes on with gums from this dentist and his book is far better than the other book in Amazon called Cure Gum Disease Naturally. But fact is it's clear there needs to be a lot more research into the cause of gum problems because all we really have at this point is a doctor in the early 20th century who travelled the world looking at indigenous people's good teeth and gums then comparing it with the deterioration that happened when those same types of people adopted a Western diet. The info has not caught up with modern nutrition either - yes the fat soluble vitamins A, D and K2 are key to dental health, but that does not mean we need to kill ourselves with saturated fat. That said, I don't see any other books out there tackling weak gums, so kudos to Mr Lin as being one of the only dentists to look at nutrition (cause) instead of just treating symptoms.

Made me write my first amazon review
Amazing book, easy to read, nice diagrams, it is a book that perfectly informs and enables you to implement what he is saying. A note to anyone who is trying the diet - its basically a variation on the paleo/ketogenic diet, the dip that he and anyone who tries it will go through is keto flu but diet s defiantly worth doing. This book is so good I had to write my first amazon review

The dental food pyramid rocks!
A very well researched book written in an approachable style, with complex concepts explained in a digestible way. The dental food pyramid rocks! It starts with the teeth, but the implications of the nutrition plan proposed by Dr Lin are truly holistic. Highly recommended for parents. Don't be surprised if your children start reading it too...

The only medicine you will ever need!
Fantastic book. Aims to reintroduce the ancestral diet and shows the importance of food in human health.

should be on the shelf of every new parent
An excellent book, and very important to read before having a child - so many of the problems they may face as an adult due to health could be averted if they were given the proper diet and exercises listed in the book while they're still growing.
