If you don’t know what a wire nut is you will need an electrician
I just completed installation of 4 tubes in my kitchen. I have under-cabinet lighting consisting of two 2ft fixtures and two 3ft fixtures. Each contains one bulb. This review is for the 2ft long bulbs. I posted a slightly different review on the 3ft bulb page.A word of caution. This manufacturer, and probably many other manufacturers, markets the same bulbs for US and foreign markets. As a result, a bulb marked as 2ft may actually be 60cm which is slightly shorter. My suggestion, prior to modifying your fixture, is to turn power off and slip the new bulb into the tombstones. If it’s not a snug fit the end prongs might not make solid contact with the tombstone(s) and fail to light. At this point it would probably be advisable to return the bulbs before making a permanent modification to your fixture.Another word of caution. LED replacement tubes only emit light on one side of the tube. Ideally you would like to install a bulb into the tombstones and twist it 90 degrees. When you do that you might find that it is not illuminating the area you wanted lit. In practice, you could get by only twisting the bulb 45 degrees in the tombstone. This is what I had to do. It’s not ideal and any vibration could conceivably cause the bulb to loosen and drop out of the tombstone.Installation involves disconnecting the fluorescent ballast. It is quick and easy but I have another warning. The bulbs ship without wire nuts. This is probably a good thing. If you don't know what a wire nut is then you should absolutely hire an electrician to do the conversion. After I converted my first fixture it took about 8 to 10 minutes to do each of the other fixtures. So, if you are paying an electrician by the hour and generously allow 10 minutes per fixture you should be able to have up to 5 fixtures modified in under one hour.I started the modification by switching off AC power at the wall switch but a safer way would be to turn off the circuit breaker. I then cut all of the ballast wires close to the ballast. I chose to remove the ballast but I could also have left the now disabled ballast in place. The fact that these bulbs have electrical connections at both ends negates the need to perform any type of modification to the tombstone(s). Single ended LED replacement bulbs would have created a problem for me. By purchasing double ended bulbs, you don't need to do an evaluation of your fixture prior to installation. The manufacturer should include stickers to apply within the fixture to warn future home owners that these are no longer standard fluorescent fixtures. I had some stickers left over from a previous project of modifying 4ft over-head fixtures using bulbs from a different manufacturer. If I didn’t have those stickers, I would have created my own warning label and taped it inside.Wiring requires you to connect the incoming black and white power wires to the tombstone(s) at opposite ends of the fixture. Since you cut the wires off at the ballast you already have red, blue, and or possibly yellow wires pre-connected to the tombstone(s). These are the wires that you will join to the black and white power wires. The tombstone(s) at one end connect to the white wire and the tombstone(s) at the other end connect to the black wire. You'll need wire nuts to accomplish this. You may need additional wire to reach each end if for example the incoming power cable is at the far end of the fixture.

Great option when the ballast is too unique to find or very expensive
These lights came in a super heavy duty square box. Each LED light had its own box inside of that big square box. It was very well packed. I was surprised that the back of the LEDs had an aluminum backing. The top of the LEDs have a transparent filament to protect the lens until you install it. The reason I bought this 2 foot lightbulb was because it did type A and type B, which means type A can be used with a ballast or type B you remove the ballast and just hook it up direct to the power.I have a commercial building and the ballast are starting to go out on the lights in the bathrooms. I tried to find a ballast replacement. However, I couldn’t find one that would fit in the unit. The space dedicated to the ballast was so small and unique to this lighting unit that the only logical alternative was to convert it to LED Type B or replace the whole unit. Since I wanna keep the bathrooms consistent with the same lights, I decided to try this. The conversion to a type B, which means you remove the ballast and just hook it up direct to the power, was super easy. It did come with adequate instructions but a simple YouTube search will be visually better. I tested it for continuity and then connected it to an extension cord and plugged it in. Once it tested good I was able to install the unit back in bathroom.Time will tell if the LED light holds up. My experience with LEDs is that the LED bulbs don’t burn out but the electronics give up and you don’t get that 50,000 hours of life as they claim the LEDs give.

Hey, it does work for me
My closet’s fluorescent lights went out, so I bought these to replace the original F17T8 bulbs I had installed. When I first put them in, the light flickered on briefly, but after flipping the switch on and off, they wouldn’t turn on again. I tried different variations of this process with the second bulb, taking it out and reinstalling it, but kept getting the same flickering result. Eventually, I decided to rotate the bulb about 15° inward—still in its slot but not fully locked in—and, surprisingly, both lights stayed on. It’s odd that they don’t work when fully clipped in, but tilting them slightly (about 10–15°) does the trick. I originally planned to return them, but after using them for about a week and a half with no issues, I decided to share my experience instead. The lights are super bright, and while I can’t quite explain why this works, they’re doing the job!

Great product!
Worked perfectly in my old fluorescent fixture. I removed the ballast, wired one side hot, one neutral, wrote in Sharpie which side is which, on the fixture and on the bulbs so the next person knows what's up, even though the description said it is dual ended on either end. I checked this and sure enough, it works when either side is on the hot side. I chose to put the hot side of the bulb where the label on the tube is, and which is also where 3 wires are on the LED strip are though. All 12 were tested and worked. Go ahead & buy, you won't regret it. Great price and quality. Just remove the ballast and 2 wire nuts later you're done!

Flickers continually
Might just be a bad batch sent to me but now that I started using them to replace lights as they go out I see the lights flicker and don’t stay on after numerous tries and tweaking. As a test case I even removed a 2ft bulb that was working perfectly and inserted this light bulb in the fixture, and same issue of flickering, but then the other light that was in it continues to work fine. Tried more than one bulb from the pack of 4 I ordered, and in 3 different locations/light fixtures, same flickering issue.

Good Quality - Very Bright
After using inexpensive bulbs from a big box store for the last 6 years, I was very surprised by the apparent much higher quality of these bulbs. Plus, they cost less than the ones I was using. The light from these is very bright. I had no problem getting them to work in a fixture that has a magnetic ballast. Lifespan is unknown at this point.
