Safe-Cut Can Opener with Easy Turn Knob, Black

The Good Cook Can Opener is an essential kitchen tool that stands out for its innovative design, safety features, and ease of use. One of its key selling points is the unique lid remover mechanism that eliminates the need to touch the can lid after it’s been opened. This can opener lifts the top off the can and holds onto it securely, preventing any risk of mess or accidental cuts. The lid can be removed and discarded without ever coming into direct contact with your hands, adding a significant level of hygiene and safety to a common kitchen task. What makes the Good Cook Can Opener even more appealing is the clean and safe edge it creates. Unlike traditional openers that leave a jagged and potentially dangerous edge, this model cuts through the can in such a way that both the can and the lid have smooth, safe edges. This ensures that you, or anyone else handling the can, won’t accidentally cut themselves while preparing food or dealing with recycling. Additionally, the clean-cut edge allows for the lid to be reused, which is particularly useful for resealing cans or temporarily storing contents in the fridge without needing to transfer them to another container. The ergonomic design of the can opener is another major highlight. It features an easy-grip handle that feels comfortable in your hand, making it simple to use even if you have weaker wrists or arthritis. It’s far easier to operate compared to traditional openers, which often require a lot of effort and fiddling to get the job done. With this model, you just place it on the can, turn the handle, and it glides smoothly around the rim, cutting through without resistance. The handle is well-designed to fit comfortably, reducing hand strain and making it an ideal choice for frequent use. Beyond its ease of use, the sturdy construction of the Good Cook Can Opener is impressive. Built from durable materials, it’s designed to withstand frequent use without breaking or wearing down. The quality construction ensures that the cutting mechanism remains sharp, and the opener itself won’t bend or become misaligned over time. It’s a reliable, heavy-duty tool that can handle a wide variety of can sizes without issue. Another big plus is its affordable price. Given the level of convenience, safety, and durability this can opener offers, it’s an exceptional value for its cost. The design feels premium, but it’s priced reasonably enough for anyone to add to their kitchen collection without breaking the bank. For those looking for a replacement or simply upgrading from a more basic opener, the Good Cook Can Opener is worth every penny. In summary, the Good Cook Can Opener delivers on all fronts: it’s safe, user-friendly, and built to last. Its thoughtful design ensures you never have to touch the can lid, while the smooth edge and easy grip make it far superior to traditional can openers. With its sturdy construction and great price point, it’s a kitchen tool that’s hard to beat in terms of value and functionality. Whether you open cans every day or just occasionally, this can opener is an excellent investment that will make your life in the kitchen much easier and safer.

Works great but result was different than we expected - instead of cutting on the top of the can, it cuts around the side of the can just below the seam for the lid. This actually is excellent, because it greatly reduced sharp edges from the lid, and reduces the chances of any contamination (dirt, dust, etc…) that might have accumulated on the lid from getting inside the can. Additionally, because the top of the can and seam pop off - if you washed and dried the lid and container, you could probably re-use the cans for storage of other items, or for covert/secret storage. The cost was far below other can openers, and this can opener worked far better than other can openers we tried at the same price point. Highly recommended - this is now our go-to can opener. We like it much better than the other much more expensive name brand can openers that come in a variety of colors. This can opener is simple, doesn’t require cleaning afterward, and does its job well.

This can opener is clearly designed with user safety and ease of use in mind. One of my favorite features is that it leaves the edge of the lid smooth and rounded after opening the can, eliminating the sharp metal edges that can easily cause cuts with traditional can openers. I'm not sure how the mechanism works, but the engineering behind it is impressive. The handle is ergonomic and comfortable to grip, and opening a can requires very little effort. It has worked well with every type of can I've tried so far. If you're concerned about accidentally cutting yourself on sharp can lids, I highly recommend this product. It is easy to use, thoughtfully designed, and makes opening cans much safer.

This thing works great! At first I was skeptical. It isn't a grip type locking mechanism. It's a single handle. Then I used it. Turning the knob draws the cutting head down to the can, and opening the can becomes trivial. The older models with the pliar type grips required a squeeze of some force to effectively open cans, and as they aged, things loosened up to the point where, eventually all I got were sharp metal shavings lining the cans and unopened cans. This one is still pretty new, so I don't know if it'll loosen with age, but structurally, I'm not seeing the wear points that'll cause it to fail in the same way the old ones eventually did.

This is simply one of the best can openers I have ever owned. No more dealing with sharp edges and trying your best not to get little shards of metal in the food. You don't have to worry about any of this when using this device. It actually cuts outside the can's top in a smooth action. When I first used it I thought it wasn't working because the cutting action is so smooth. In fact it was doing its job. This is a great device around the home and makes a good gift for that cook in your family, Wonderful device, just wonderful!

A can opener has one job... open the can. While there seem to be a million options out there, I purchased this one for its simplicity. So far, it has been very easy to use and it does exactly what it is supposed to. Opens the can without leaving a sharp edge.

How can anything this simple work so great? This can opener is so impressive that I bout 2 more for my adult children. I really like the way it cuts the lid of a can that allows you to place it back on the can if needed. Very cool item!

If you are still using the old style can opener, buy this and welcome to the future. This thing works amazingly well. The 'jaws' grab the can lid instantly and it won't release as long as keep turning in the right direction. Once done opening the can just go back about 1/4 of a turn to release. This is great engineering.

I don’t understand how it works but it does and no sharp edges!

This things works well to open all sizes of cans, including gallon sized. A good deal and a quality product. I have had it for nearly a year and still working well. Easy to wash and cuts the seam of the can so no sharp edges.

This can opener works effortlessly and leaves a smooth edge (not jagged like traditional can openers). The best thing is that I have been able to reuse the lid as a cover. The product has delivered as promised so far. I just hope that it has a good lifespan/is durable for a good period of use.

It is super easy to use AND easy to wash. There's no sharp edges on the can after using it, and there's a "lid" that you make that you can use to re-seal the can that you've opened. I personally use plastic wrap on top of the can as well, but it beats using plastic wrap on top of an open and sharp container. I've since bought this can opener for the rest of my family, and they've been praising it as well. What's crazy is that this costs around the same as regular can openers, but it's so much better.
