This is a odd question, do you think it can fit a DS lite on this grip?

Probably not. The DS Lite is around 22mm thick, so 11mm when open. My phone without the case is 8.5mm thick and barely fits in the grip. I have to take my case off for the hooks to wrap around it.

Will a 6.7' inch phone fit in it?

Yes i have samsung note 20 ultra as long as you dont put a case to it. It will fit

What is the thickness of phone allowed to slide in?

To be honest I am surprised that my Google pixel 6 even fits in it but anything bigger would not fit.
