A Darn Good Manual Pump
I needed a well-built pump to draw water out of a few rain barrels to water some potted plants. Bought a plastic, lever pump that didn't last a year before it decided to give up the ghost. So looked for something sturdier, found this all-metal hand-crank pump and after the first use, just fell in love with it. Best features:1. Threaded barrel adapter fit perfectly.2. Draws a good amount of water with each crank revolution, filling a 2-gallon watering can in no time.3. All metal construction means it should (hopefully) last for a long time even when exposed to the elements.I highly-recommend this product for those like me who need it for just a simple task - drawing water.

Works as advertised
The item works as advertised. I didn't have any issues installing it on the tank. Very easy setup.

Inexpensive hand pump
I use this to transfer water from a barrel to water plants. It dies Move a good bit of volume with each revolution of the handle. It does work well, but feels like it could be more solid in construction. The slip joints tend to work loose during use, but that is my only complaint with it.

Leaks copious gas around the handle - very low quality
The media could not be loaded. I'm replacing another unit just like this one because its seal got hard and failed after being exposed to gasoline for about 5 years. Well, this replacement has the same problem right out of the box - it leaks tons of gas all around the handle. If you use it to pump out your 30gal gas caddy, you'll wind up with 25 gallons coming out the hose and 5 gallons coming out the handle seal and onto the ground. The threads were also a bit boogered from the factory thread cutting (but did thread on), and an unknown amount of styrofoam had gotten into the pump body from the packaging materials. There's a reason that the hand pumps that look just like this one but that are made by reputable companies who actually put their brand on the product cost about 4x as much.

Not for fresh water!
Bought this pump last year to put in a rain barrel. In general, the pump works but it does not fit snuggly on the threaded piece of the barrel. Worst of all, the pipe has a coating of oil on the inside that just will not come off. I have tried running soapy water through it and just running tons of water through it and to no avail. When the water comes out there is a film on it like a gasoline rainbow and it smells. Cannot / will not use this on my vegetables. If you needed this for a chemical I guess it would be okay but NOT for fresh water. The slinky hose that comes with it does not stay on either. I had to tape it on.
