simply so easy and convenient to use.not timed it but id say two minutes to set up. on the 3rd one now. yes i am idle!ok so not the most sophisticated gadget on the market. if goes on, off, on, off , on , off on........but so convenient on a routine or the tap of the phone. Cheaper now than a decent mechanical timer plug but you dont need to get out of your chair to override it!not sure why users are having difficulty.make sure your phone is on a 2.4 ghz not a 5ghz band on your router, plug the unit in, scan the qr code directly from the mydlink app, connect to it, say yes i want to revert to my previous network, put in its password, done. they could not have made it simpler. give it the name of what your using it for, take a picture of it to add to the profile, set up a schedule if required. done. the hight of idleness or is that convenience. even my wife had to admit - hey google switch on the lamp - was worth it!used one to turn on the fish tank air at night time and the 3rd one will do nicely for the christmas tree lights!

Great new smart plug from D-Link.The mydlink App is easy to use, and made the plug very easy to set up on my iphone.I have a couple of D-Link cameras and their older smart plug which were all visible on the new mydlink APP so now I can manage everything in 1 place.The integration with Alexa worked really well; our kids thought it was great that we could “Ask Alexa” to turn a lamp on and off.The D-Link Smart plug was a bit more expensive than some of the others listed on Amazon but I went for it as the reviews for the other, cheaper products mentioned problems with set-up; I didn’t have any problem setting up of the D-Link smart plug, and the App really does make it easy to set and control.I’ll be buying a few more so the kids can play with Alexa !!

I bought 3 of these a year ago. One works adequatly, although the My D link app is the worst designed user interface I have come across. One of the other plugs randomly drops offline, regardless of where I put it, even within 6 feet line of sight to the router, each time alerting me to the fact it is on or off line via the app. The third plug was unreliable after 6 months and now has "bricked" and just shows a green halo the moment it is plugged in, failing any attempt to boot up or respond to any input.I suppose because they are cheap you could buy a load in the hope that one or two might work as advertised after the warranty runs out.Utter rubbish.

I've had these for about 3 months now. Love them. Because I travel a lot it's nice to know I can give my house the appearance I'm in! From anywhere with a Web connection.I see a number of reviews talking about problems i have no experience of. Not sure why that is? But in the meantime, I really love them and plan to buy a couple more. I even use the app to turn off my side light at bed time. It's simply more convenient to finish looking at the phone, click on the app, switch off the light. There is a button on top of the plug which switches the light on or off as well.I like the little group settings you can make and save. For example, going away I can automatically make all the sockets behave in a way I've set up. Easy to do.Down sides are: in the app, the terminology is not great. Had to go through a learning curve to test and understand what the creator of the app was on about - because it wasn't intuitive. As you can tell though, I got past all that pretty quick.Now used daily and not a single hiccup. Il be buying more.

This smart plug by D-link is perfect! It's easy to set up and manage through the smart phone app so it was up and going in no time. Being a student, I found the timer settings really handy for controlling what hours I wanted appliances turned on, that way if I forgot to turn them off at the wall it didn't cost me anything extra in electric bills! It also works with the rest of my smart home tech like my amazon echo which meant the whole house could control turning the lights off and on hands free! Couldn't recommend it enough, great reliable device at a great price!

First wifi plug purchased. Works remotely to turn devices on and off, which is handy, but the scheduling doesn't appear to work (you can add a schedule via the app but it doesn't adhere to it) and support options appear limited (no troubleshooting guide). Since writing the above the plug has now lost connection and I am struggling to resolve. Disappointed and certainly wouldn't recommend until scheduling issues are resolved.EDIT: Scheduling works but if you initially set the time to turn on for a period where the start time has already passed (for eg set the on time as 5pm for the first time yime at, say 5.01pm, then it won't turn on whatever is plugged in until 5pm the next day.

I now have two of these and it works very well with “Google Home” and the Google Nest range of smart speakers.Easy to setup using the MyDlink app - scanning the QR code automates the process and adds the device.Once the Google Home app is linked to your Dlink account, the devices are displayed and included in your “room”.The plug can be switched on and off using the app, asking the smart speaker or better still as part of a routine and combining the plug or plugs with other devices.

This items works very well once the initial installation is complete but setup can be difficult. I wasted 2 hours figuring out that there is a different app for this plug than the previous version of the plug and frustratingly the old app just got stuck installing rather than saying that it wasn't compatible. If the first stab at installation fails, you have to make sure to reset the plug (hold how WPS button) before you try another setup attempt otherwise this attempt fails also. Unfortunately the app is of no assistance when something fails..it just waits and waits and then says reset and try again.Having said all that, once setup, it is a very steady and reliable product
