Foldio - Folding Portable Lightbox Studio for Smartphone or DSLR

I had been looking at options for a lightbox to photograph items on my blog and found this lovely item and was impressed! I had seen ways to make your own at home, but what I appreciate about Foldio is that it is portable. If I want to blog or snap pics of items elsewhere, I have the option to fold this up and go! Set up is fairly easy, watch the video a few times and you will be set. The backdrops are solid as well, similar to foam sheets you see in craft stores and also fold up well within the Foldio without creasing. The row of LED lights are bright and creates even lighting while photographing. Be aware that the lights do reflect on shiny surfaces and you will get the dots on the item you are photographing. The price was worth paying to have the portability of this lightbox.

The concept is great, but it still seems to be more of a prototype than a finished product. In my experience, the box can be a bit droopy, but you're still able to take decent pictures none-the-less. Foldio is a great little gadget to add to your photographic arsenal, and I still use it fairly extensively despite some shortcomings.

Good concept; compact, easy to open and close (which can NOT be said for fabric/wire photo studios), backgrounds were attractive and easily attached. But the lighting strip is not powerful enough, and is dragged down by the battery (a 9v). It's a neat idea, but I look forward to acquiring the updated Foldio 2.

Arrived damaged. No instructions and product walls are permanently bent. LED strip was loose. This thing is a ripoff. Fifty bucks for a cardboard box. I do NOT recommend this overpriced gimmick to anyone.

Sadly, it didn't work for me whatsoever. Out of the box, excited to open and use this for my IG planner account- and it wouldn't work. Tried several different batteries and the led lights didn't work. I've since returned it and will be looking for something that is 1) more structured and not as flimsy, 2) has led lights that I can plug in or use a battery or both.

This is a fantastic, portable light box. The use of magnets to create this product is genius! It works better than I expected for the low price point.

Love it -- especially the LED light strips which are both bright and economical. The only reason it doesn't get five stars is because the backdrop keeps falling off and I have to use a bendy ruler to help keep the thing in proper shape. But it does exactly what you would think: allow amateur photographers to shoot pure white product shots.

This is probably an excellent product for my needs, however, it arrived MISSING one of the magnets necessary for keeping it together. What a pain. I can either jury-rig a closure (i.e., paperclip), or return it for an exchange....either way is a PITA!
