Home made yoghurt
Lately I decided to be healthier (homemade ice-cream and yoghurt).the truth is that I havent find the right recipe/s, however I only tried this yoghurt one once. The machine is brilliant and the timer is definitely very useful as you can cook your yoghurts over night. The idea of the pots is ideally as you can bring them to work and also make your own favourite flavours.I would recommend to any person that likes homemade yoghurt and eat loads of it too as it is a money saver and definitely healthier as you know the real components and you can control the sugar and addictives. The instructions in the machine are easy to follow and also come in different languages to suit most people.

It works !!!!!!!!!
I purchased my Moulinex Yogurt Maker some time ago and I am very pleased with it. I had problems with delivery, but not sure if this was due to bad weather (it was last winter) or the company, there had been some poor reports on delivery, but having conquered that I move on. My husband thought I had lost the plot, a yogurt maker he screamed, but now he is eating as many home made yogurts as me. I use a carton of long-life milk, culture and 2 spoons of powdered milk, beat with a hand whisk, pour in the pots and leave for 8 hours, I have to say that being able to put the pots in the dishwasher is great. We live some of our time in India which mainly was the reason for this purchase as you can only get ambient yogurts over there and they are horrid, so my yogurt maker travels the world with me. With costs rising this is an excellent alternative, also for me being able to create my own flavours is great, I love apple sauce (from a jar) and raisins.

Delicious Yoghurt
I am 100% pleased with this product, the yoghurt is delicious and it is very easy to make. The reason I have only awarded four stars is, like a previous reviewer, I did not find the instructions very helpful at all, for instance I was unsure how much of the starter yoghurt to use. It was only after reading some tips for making yoghurt on the internet that I understood what I was doing. I ordered a few extra jars and that makes life easier, but sadly I could not do this through Amazon. I would throughly recommend the product itself - the timer and the lids with changeable dates are a very useful feature if, like me, your memory is not what it was!

Needs UK plug adapter
I was prepared by other reviewers to expect that this version did not have a timer, which is fine. However, this product has an European plug rather than a UK plug, so needs an adapter for use in the UK

Excellent.
I made my first batch of yogurt last week and it was excellent! The yogurt maker has 7 glass pots which fit into the base neatly.I litre of milk, 3 tablespoons of live yogurt make up the 7 pots.I also added 3 tablespoons of powdered milk. Switch on and leave for the required time and Hey Presto! delicious yogurt. You need to switch the machine off manually as it is not automatic. The pots are glass and unfortunately I knocked one over in the sink and it broke. There are no replacement jars available. But I did have an almost identical jar which seems a fine substitute.I have many recipes for yogurt and will try out different milks etc. I can control exactly what goes into the yogurt we eat so I am very pleased. I think that I will have covered the cost of the Yogurt maker within a few months!

Just knew it would be fabulous!
We had a Moulinex yogurt maker for years and when it finally conked we didn't replace it. We did buy another brand a few years ago but it was always hit and miss. When it got to be completely "miss" I looked on Amazon and found the Moulinex. It is fantastic. Great taste, consistent and easy to use. It doesn't have an auto timer and we don't need one. If it wears out from over-use in six months we'll get another one. That's how much we like it!

Poor temperature control
Be aware that the temperature control is quite poor which is common among all these low priced yoghurt makers. If anyone tests the temperature with a digital thermometer, the temperature can exceed the temperature where bacteria for making yoghurt can survive! The base plate on mine can reach 60C if it is left going for long periods. ie if doing multiple batches, 2nd or 3rd batches could be killed due to the high temperatures. The clear plastic upper lid does help to keep condensation away from the yoghurt pots and the pot lids can be stored on top of this while the yoghurt is fermenting inside. That part of it works very well, better than many competing products.

A slightly different approach
I have owned this Moulinex Yoghurt Maker for about six months now and have tried many different ways of making yoghurt, all turned out OK but in the search for the ultimate thick yoghurt I think I have sussed it. Not being a big fan of UHT milk, I now buy two 500ml of the supermarket cheapest yoghurt (currently 55p each) and a 500ml of the cheapest bio yoghurt (usually 75p to £1), mix them all together really well and this amount fits perfectly into the seven glass jars. After eight hours, the yoghurt comes out exceptionally thick and creamy it is delicious. There is no messing about with bio cultures, dried milk and UHT milk. It may be a tad more expensive but I think it is worth the cost.Very pleased with this Moulinex product. It has been used a couple of times a week and is coping very well.
