Good quality scales and nice colors

Pretty good. Not amazing grain pattern but very good for the price.

Milled pefectly with only very little snipe that will be sanded out. The grain "pops" and none have any splits or grain imperfections.

The knife scales measured slightly more 1 1/2-inches x 4 3/4-inches. The wood is from the Desert Ironwood tree, harvested in Southwestern Mexico. It is a hard and dense wood that finishes beautifully and has a pleasing grain pattern.Two of the pieces had cracks ranging from 3/8-inch to a 1-inch through crack. A third piece had a 1/2-inch x 2-inch knot. On the plus side, the grain is nicely figured. Since the pieces are not sawn from the same board, the grain patterns do not match up if that is a consideration. Since the wood has to be worked anyway, I feel buying a larger piece with a consistent grain pattern would be a more cost-effective option.

The wood appears to be too dry. It came damaged, which appeared to have occurred during shipping, but the remainder of it has chips and cracking as well. Definitely not a usable product.
