The world’s most popular record book is back with thousands of new categories and newly broken records, covering everything from outer space to sporting greats via Instagram, fidget spinners and all manner of human marvels. Inside you’ll find hundreds of never-before-seen photographs and countless facts, figures, stats and trivia waiting for you on every action-packed page. Guinness World Records 2019 is the ultimate snapshot of our world today. Plus, this year we celebrate the incredible “Maker” movement with a special feature devoted to the inventors, dreamers, crafters and creators who devote their lives to amazing record-breaking projects such as the largest water pistol, a jet-powered go-kart and an elephant-sized hamburger (think you could eat a whole one!?). We take a sneak peek into their workshops to explore these epically big builds, and ask them what inspires them to go really, really large! And if you like creating, and you like LEGO®, then you’ll love our “Making History” pages that use the world’s most famous interlocking plastic bricks to illustrate and explain an important record-breaking object – such as the Statue of Liberty or the Apollo mission’s Saturn V rocket. We examine their designs, structure and technical specifications in fully illustrated and colorful, poster-style pages. Finally, you can jump into both the making and record-breaking action with a “Do Try This At Home” section. Challenge yourself and your family with five fun record-breaking maker-inspired records you can attempt involving origami, balloon sculptures, ring pulls and rubber bands. Who knows, your creation might just make it into the record books! Review: The One Book My Students Fought Over—in the Best Way - The Guinness World Records 2019 book was hands down one of the most beloved books in my classroom. I’m talking full-on rock-paper-scissors battles to decide who got to read it first during independent reading time. Kids who “weren’t into reading” suddenly had their noses buried in stats about the world’s largest hamburger or a jet-powered go-kart. Every page is packed with bright photos, crazy facts, and the kind of weird, wild information kids absolutely adore. The “Meet the Makers” section was a huge hit—they loved seeing real people who build huge, imaginative creations (yes, including the elephant-sized hamburger). And the LEGO “Making History” spreads? My students flipped straight to those, then tried to recreate the builds at home. We even used the “Do Try This at Home” challenges during Fun Friday, and the balloon dogs were chaotic but unforgettable. If you teach upper elementary or have a curious kid at home who loves bizarre-but-true facts, this book will be a total home run. It’s engaging, educational, and guaranteed to get kids reading without you having to bribe them. Review: great for kids - My students love these books. Lots of photos with small captions- the kids don't think they are reading, but they are! Perfect for a reluctant reader/learner in the classroom during free or independent reading times.

Great for young minds.
I bought this for my 9.5 yr old grandson. I bought an issue and he opened it and started reading it and telling us fun facts. We had to encourage him to stop reading & open Xmas presents! Great for young minds and gets them interested in new and exciting things about the world, things outside their normal exposure. I love that about Nat’l Geographic for adults and kids.

Fun book , great price
It’s 2022 but who cares if this book is 2019, it’s still super interesting for my 10 year old grandson and me. For 5 bucks and some change, it’s a steal!

Great for kids and adults
Every year I get my son (now age 12) an updated Gusiness Book of World Records and every year I think the adults get more use out of it than the kids :). Always a fun way to entertain yourself and those around you by sharing fun and quirky records that have been set. We always learn something new and fun each time we open this book.

A fun Christmas tradition
World record books are a bit of a teen Christmas tradition in our family. I ordered this for our aunt to give to my teen, and the book was colorful, interesting, and just enough weird in a good way to keep people entertained at the party.
