decent but sugary
it does help the irritating dry cough one can get while recovering from cold but sugar content makes it risky when one is trying to watch sugar intake.wish they would make it sugar free as well

Weaker flavor than in past, very mild, not great for sore throat any more!
I have enjoyed these candies most of my life but the recipe is weaker than ever. I guess to make it less bitter and palpable to a newer generation. That means these no longer will soothe a sore throat. They are very mild and almost taste like a weak flavored root beer barrel candy. I would not buy again. Not terrible but not great. Horehound candy should be bitter and have an aftertaste. It is something you have to get used to. Not anymore apparently. Save your money and buy Ricola instead.

Great for making cough syrup.
We use this to make cough syrup. We dump a pack in a quart jar if good liquor. Add a little cinnamon and your good to go.

Really like the old time horehound flavor
My family always bought horehound candy at Knott's Berry Farm. They no longer carry it and this product is close but not as strong. Great taste and southing to the throat. Will buy again.
