Q: Does this work on carpet?

I have not tried it on carpet. I only have hardwood floors in the studio where it is used.

It can be 2 different heights, great purchase

The point of this stool is that when pressure is applied, it doesn't roll around. There is no way to lock the wheels.

Q: Is the top of this step stool wide enough for standing?

It is for me with my woman's size 9.5 feet
