Objective2 Headphone Amplifier

So, as some of you may know already, the Objective2 amplifier was invented by a clever and quite brilliant audio engineer who goes by the moniker "NwAvGuy". The philosophy behind this invention was to create an incredible bang-for-your-buck amp with benchmark performance that hits way above its weight class. So that people on a tight budget (like me) can experience what he felt was a true piece of audiophile equipment that doesn't come with the big $$$ audiophile pricetag of other headphone amplifiers on the market. And succeed at that, he did...Now, since he made his design open source, several manufacturers have jumped at the opportunity to reproduce his design, and to make various modifications in an attempt to cater to the wants and needs of headphone lovers around the world. Ive been very impressed with Mayflower Electronics' version of the O2 amp. It has really made my HD6XX's come to life! There's no comparison to how these headphones sounded by just plugging them into my smartphone/PC. This versatile little amp really can provide ample power to even the most difficult to drive headphones on the market. And it has such a clean sound. Its very neutral, uncolored. The background is black as pitch. Dead silent. No annoying buzzing or humming that I could hear, even at high volume levels in between songs or while switching tracks/albums.The Mayflower O2 feels sleek, solid and well-built. It comes with an impressive 10 year warranty! And each unit is hand assembled and tested in-house, right here in the good ol' USA (which cannot be said for some of its competitors versions). I like supporting local businesses, and in this case they're relatively close to where I live ^_<.I've already had great experiences with their customer service and would happily and confidently buy from them again. I encourage buyers to reach out to them if they have any questions or are looking for different customization options. They've definitely made a fan out of me!

This is devoid of most bells & whistles. To be frank you could spemd double or more for an amplifier not as clean or decent.You will need a 6.5 to 3.5 cable though. I use it with me HD600's from Sennheiser it also has a good volume nob & a gain button. Overall it's built nicely all aluminum.

I'm not an audiophile, but I love death metal. And I can say that this amp, plus BeyerDynamic DT 770 PRO 250Ohm headphones, truly made a world of difference in sound quality across the board. I use them for gaming and for watching movies as well.Totally worth the money. I'd recommend this amplifier for anyone. I never knew what I was missing with just standard "gaming" headphones.

Was just exactly what I was looking for. Very solid with great sound. Compact and comes with a power adapter. The manufacture sent me a note that they had to use blue jacks for the in and out because black was back-ordered because of the pandemic. I like them better and they are easier to see in low light. Highly recommend this unit!

This is a wonderful product. I have endless audio files on my computer, so I plug the Signstek DAC into the desktop, then into the O2 amplifier, and the sound is excellent. Very clean, including at the bottom end; bass guitars and tympani sound just like they sound. I use it to listen to a wide variety of genres on the Grado line of headphones and couldn't be happier. Excellent definition and naturalness. Much fuller sound than just using a DAC. There's plenty of volume.A steal at this price.

Powers my hd 600s and does it well.

I was impressed by the quality of the amplifier, but also the quality of the manufacture presentation. Instructions were very thorough, company seems to know their stuff. Hand crafted and hand tested every unit before shipping out was on the instructions paper. As for sound, my headphones is the beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO 250 Ohm. The amplifier is rated for 300 Ohm, I did have to use the gain button. But after that, the volume knob stays at around 70-80%, and that's with the 70-80% Windows volume they recommend. Overall, 5 star product.

I have a set of headphones for my studio that pretty inefficient but sound very good. In the past I used a crown D60 (overkill but what I had) for that model. This is much smaller than the crown but still delivers! Its a deceptively tiny case but works quite well for a headphone amp.
