Quite Excellent Poles. They failed after six months, but a new pair is being shipped free.
I bought this for a different use: I blew a disc a couple of months ago, and I'm getting really tired of my cane. Not only did it make me look my age, it wasn't all that comfortable. I tried a hiking pole from Academy that was very nice, but the rubber tip wore out in three days. These are far, far better. Instead of a shock cord, the Equipeak uses a steel cable! The 'breakdown' mechanism is ingenious, easy to use, and you don't have to adjust the pole again every time you fold it. I was a bit taken aback by the running shoe shaped tips.... until I figured out that they go backwards, to push you along. They don't look like they will wear out in three days. And the straps have a soft fake moleskin lining; nice. Walking with two poles works very well for me too. I can almost keep up on slow walks with the family now, when before I was annoyingly slow. One mystery; It arrived with a large, black microfiber... hijab? neck warmer? polishing cloth? S&M loincloth? My daughter thinks it's to wrap the poles up in so they don't rattle. Suggestions welcomed.Warning: By Large, they mean LARGE. I am 6'3"; and the pole has maybe an inch of adjustment left before it hits the bottom stop. If you are merely a six footer, you might want to order a medium. Now, after six months of not very heavy use for trekking poles, the cord in the middle that holds everything together is coming loose. The poles are now useless. But, they are shipping me a pair of replacements.

A lifesaver for this middle aged traveler
These were lifesavers for me on a recent trip to South America (Colombia). I have arthritis in hip and knees and my balance isn't great. I use trekking poles on long walks, but couldn't be sure I could take my regular ones as carry-on baggage (domestic flights say they will not allow it) and they would not fit in my checked bags. So I got these. They collapse down small enough for a small suitcase. They are very study. I used both poles on paths for hiking and used one pole for city streets that were often hilly or paved with uneven stones. They were really helpful on the many steep staircases that I encountered. Collapsing them is SUPER easy--just be sure to read the instructions. When traveling on flights within Colombia I collapsed them down and they fit in the outside pocket of my small backpack. They were worth every penny.

My Wife ordered this for me. I'm a 400 ...
My Wife ordered this for me. I'm a 400 pound man. I have low back issues that make it difficult to stand or walk long distances. I used one of these poles to walk around New Orleans and it provided a rest to lean on while standing. I found if the clamp that locks the pole at a specific height won't hold you can open the clamp and tighten the screw a 1/4 turn at a time until the clamp is strong enough to hold.

Amazing service!
I received my poles quickly. Upon putting them together I found on would not lock in place. I contacted customer service via email and within an hour I had a reply. I was told to keep the poles, one locked into place just fine, and a new set was on the way! The new poles arrived and they lock into place just fine. They are light yet, feel sturdy. They fold compactly and will easily fit in my carryon bag for travel. I can’t recommend this company and product enough!

Five Stars
First of all I love the compact size, I was able to strap them to our packs without them sticking out. They are quite strong and light weight as well. Thank goodness there were instructions on how to put them together, it took a little doing but once I got one done the lightbulb went on and the others were a snap. However, the reason for the 4 out of 5 stars is that my wife is just 5ft (with shoes on) and these poles are made for those who are 5ft 7 or better. greater adjustability would be a plus. But we made them work anyway.

High quality features without the high price.
High marks for hitting the features I wanted most at a highly affordable price. Nice cork handles keep hands cool, very light-weight but strong aircraft aluminum, strong coated steel internal cable, quick assemble and fold to easily fit my backpack or carry-on bag with included Velcro retainer and sleeve, locking clips to adjust height for going up or down hills. They got quite a workout on my recent hiking in Arizona. Would definitely recommend.

You can not trust this stick to hold much weight
I loved the look and feel of the sticks but I discovered on my first hike that the stick would not support my daughter who is only 135 lbs. The top section kept sliding down and I felt this would be very dangerous and might result in an injury. It was out of the question for me to use it as I am 6'3" tall and the sick will not retain it's height. I tried to tighten the spring clip by turning the wheel but it did nothing. If you intend to put any weight on these or to use the full height I would not purchase this product.

Wiggling stick
Usually I checked reviews before I made a purchase. Often I was satisfied with the items I received... ...However, this one really not meeting my expectations - after I assembled them, I immediately disappointed as they appear to be wiggling sticks. I won't feel comfortable to use them for real hiking, even for the fact I am only doing those easy trails. This is a pull & click type. My old one besides it is tight by screwing each section, which present must stronger/ stable.Maybe they are OK for elder people to use as crane, as some review commented? I will let my parents try them with caution, then decide if I will give them to my parents. I may end up to return them.

Barely walking to walking
I have been working 12 hours a day, 7 days a week since the lock down started and I am seated all of that time. No I don't work in and essential service. My employer just figured out they could exploit the situation. I have health problems and had a routine that managed them. My new life has turned me into a hunched over shuffle walker that can only walk a block. These sticks work better for me than canes or crutches to get me upright and able to walk and add to my distances.

Light and compact
I like that the poles fold down small enough to fit in a small backpack - that's what I bought them for. They fold and adjust easy, and function just fine. The only issue I found was the wrist straps had a couple plastic 'burs' on them at the edges which have a tendency to chafe the wrist or back of hand. I will likely cover with tape or something to rectify. Overall, if they had a better quality wrist strap, I would give them 5 stars.

Good product BUT end grips fall off when hiking.
The poles are decently made and do not flex when your hiking, But the caps on the bottom of the poles fall off. I last both rubber end caps with in 2 hours of my fist hike with the poles. If you are going to use the rubber end caps I would tape the on with gorilla tape
