Beautiful and well made!
Love love love this pergola! It’s the perfect size for my patio and a corner sectional couch fits nicely under it. I should have read the directions a little closer when I ordered it, I didn’t realize I’d have to buy additional things like wood and concrete to put it together. Plan on spending an additional $100 for the extra parts. My contractors put it together for me, and I’m glad they did because the construction was a lot more complicated than what I could handle; but they an excellent job and it is very sturdy. Also, I didn’t want to cement it permanently into the ground as the directions suggest, because if I move I’ll want to take it with me. So instead, I had the builders put the posts of the pergola into large flower planters and fill the planters half way with concrete. Then I filled the other half with potting soil and planted flowering vines that will eventually cover the pergola with flowers. It worked out perfectly! All in all, it’s totally worth every cent. It’s absolutely stunning and very well made.

Had to purchase additional parts (wood) wasn’t cheap.

Great addition to the backyard
Good and appealing pergola to accentuate small backyards and definitely good value for money. Looks somewhat sturdy. Had mine installed by a handyman and it appears to have taken some work to put it together.

There's so much you need to know
5 stars for looks, 0 stars for materials and directions. I purchased two of these from Amazon for a deck that is 12' x 24' with the one 24' side connected to the house. Deck ranges from 3' off a lower deck to 7' off the ground. The directions will not work for a deck that is off the ground, but it's do-able. Count on adding blocking to deck joists to support an item this large. I removed deck lattices, spent a day blocking deck joists for securing 4x4 posts to the deck. Count on spending at least $200 on ladders, and the need for 1 1/2 inch screws, and count on pre drilling *every* single hole. Even then, some screws with cheap Chinese steel will strip before sinking, and I'm talking brand new drill bits including driver/end, fresh charge to drill, and brand new drill bit augers. The screws must be 30% tin, honestly, and this is the type of item you cannot have screws that don't sink. Also, the materials you need: The 12' board does not need to be notched as it's way short of the two rafters for that size. AND the 5' is just WRONG. It's 10" too long. How you confuse 50" with 60" is a mystery. The company is very helpful on the phone, 5 stars to their receptivity, but when is the last time anyone at newenglandarbors.com put one of these together, from China, at that US company? Not lately. I haven't installed the shade slats yet because how do you do that from a deck? Or for that matter, from the ground when the screws don't self-drill? Study the directions a map out a plan for decks because installing in the steps in the directions will leave you hamstrung and potentially dismantling and re-assembling -- every owner's nightmare. Or worse, a handyman that cuts corners. I had a lot of family help, otherwise this would have been more than twice the cost of each item. One quote was $2400 to assemble a single corner, and that was no guarantee it would be done correctly. If you have someone who is trustworthy, let them read this and go for it :)Update: I installed the slats, much easier than expected, but pre-drilled every hole, 26x2. Your head will fit up inside the rafters and slats, it's all in the positioning of the ladder. Also, I marked the rafters with slats just laying up there, 12" apart at both ends, and it worked out nicely after putting them back on the ground and predrilling one end and then installing permanently. It did take 90 minutes the first pergola and an hour for the second one. Looks nice. Glad the assembly is over. Now looking for long spring tension rods and finding that 48" is like $8 but 100 inches is $40+. Yikes. Why they're so much more expensive I could not say.
