What is actual length of the clips? The description says 3.8x3.8x3.8", which isn't likely or possible, based on pics.

Each clip is roughly 3.8" long x 0.4" thick. They work well on standard size flags.

can these hold a flag on a vertical pole

I use these on my flag pole, I clip my flag on them and have been using this type of clip for a few years. they attach to the rope that holds a 3' X 5' american flag.

The clips appear strong. I have not put them on the flag pole yet. I ordered 2 packages of 4 (1 for me and 1 for my daughter) but 1 package had a tear in the bottom and 1 of the clips was missing. I'll have to do with 1 flag since I can't fly 2 flags with 3 clips.

Nifty Nylon.

Yes these are plastic and they won't last forever and they will need replaced occasionally. However they also aren't brass that continually clanks the ole aluminum flagpole every time the breeze blows. They have held a 5 x 7 US Flag in some pretty major wind without breaking. If I get a half of year out of them I will be thrilled. My flag stays out 24/7=365.

Nice

I like this but I have wonders about how it will hold up in the sun and weather. So far it has been nice. I now have two flags on my flag pole.

They work great and move the flag farther from the pole so it doesn't tangle as much

other than that made of good material and as advertised

Holes are a bit small, requires restringing, other than that made of good material and as advertised.

These clips work well but are very very stiff when new.
