Trouble arises when Avigdor breaks off his engagement to Hadass (Amy Irving) and asks Yentl to take his place. The film won an Academy Award for Best Song Score. Synopsis -------- A young Jewish woman must disguise herself as a man in order to study the Torah with the rabbis. The situation becomes complicated when she falls in love with another student, only to wind up married to his fiance.
