Not overly thick which is good
After using some thicker bar pads in the gym I decided that I wanted to feel the bar more sitting on my back muscles. With the thicker pads they tend to roll down your back when doing a low bar squat as the weights go up. Since I'm trying to save my knees as I get older I need to keep the bar lower on my back in order to maintain balance which avoids your knees thrusting out past your toes by breaking earlier in the hips.
