Worked right out of the box
This one has a switch, but my vehicle does not communicate anything other than the CAN bus (i.e. engine and transmission modules) through the OBDII port in the car. In order to talk to the rest of them, I had to use the port under the hood with a 20-pin to OBD adapter. That worked flawlessly. I used this primarily for running INPA on the powertrain from inside the car on a laptop.

Do not buy this. It is too old to run on any windows computer. Does not inclue any INPA or ISTA
Gave this a shot and lost $27. The answers to the questions before you buy were in such bad English I could not decipher what was actually included. But I gave it a try anyway. What you get is a cable and a CD. The CD contains some files that look like they are written in German. There is an .EXE file and when executed it is written for windows 95 or earlier. This will absolutely not work on windows 7 or later. Try some other product before you lose money on this one. It absolutely does not contain any INPA, ISTA, or any other programs. It absolutely does not contain any drivers that work on a post 1990 computer.

Works with ISTA on Windows 10
Worked without a glitch on windows 10 laptop with ISTA software. Was able to take care of issues with my BMW X3 (E83)

Worked with INPA. The CD that came with it had a virus on it so I tossed it right in the garbage. INPA can be found online easily.

no issues works on my e46
updated my ecm after reading and learning the different programs for 3 weeks prior so I would not mess things up check out e46 fanatics if your working on bmw e46 very helpful

Horrible
What I didn't like was that there is no instructions on how to install the software. The CD has a bunch of files that make no sense to me. You would think the seller would include a video or Instructions after all the other reviews say the same thing about installing. I can't even tell if the cable is any good. Powers on for a couple seconds and it turns off. Horrible product. I would not recommend.

Works great with inpa and ista on my e39 and e70. Has a switch to bridge pins 7 and 8.
