Regulator upgrade from original on my engine
Worked great on my 2004 Mercury 115hp engine. To address others concerns about the fuse holder, that seems to address several owners which had electrical fires when the voltage regulator fried. Mercury has recall campaigns on several engines and this seems to have been the fix.You mount the fuse holder to any available stud and match the colors (red to reds, yellow to yellows, grey to grey, and black to black). My previous regulator had melted yellows from the stator, so far no issue with this replacement

Worked on Mariner 60HP with serial #0G237042
Simple to install with exception of additional fuse. There is no place to mount that allows enough clearance to get cover back on. I ended up just tucking it behind the wire bundle above.

883072
How does it interchange with 883072? Your product info says it will interchange with a 2004 115hp Mercury or part # 883072. The new part I ordered has a fuse holder attached to the wires. The OEM does not! Should the fuse be cut out and rewired, it really should not work that way! The part I ordered does not sound like OEM? There are no instructions about the 88307 interchange, just plug in the matching wires, it sounds so easy! So where are the instructions for the interchange?
