Fantastic Read
While this is a YA book, I thoroughly enjoyed it and I am nearly 60 years young. This is a captivating story that drew me in and kept me hooked. I highly recommend both book and series.

Quite a bit of promise....
I have read several of Spear's books on previous occasions and greatly appreciated her eloquent writing style; however, this book was a shame. From the underdeveloped characters to the pathetic plot this book is a waste of time. I hate saying such cruel things about a book when I understand that they take so much focus and commitment to write, but Spear shouldn’t have created this piece of work. The reason I purchased this work was because I admired the unique plot line: aliens meet fairies, dragons, mermaids, and elves. In my opinion it sounded like it could be pretty gosh darn cool if executed correctly, too bad it wasn’t. What makes books amazing is the emotional development of characters in comparison to the world around them, yet by jumping from one situation to the next Spear lost the characters personalities completely, which created a rift between the reader and the work. Spear doesn’t allow the reader to fully connect with the characters which makes them appear to be inhuman and not very personable. Being written in the third person omniscient I would expect to hear thoughts and feelings from all of the characters, not just the two main characters; which if I may say so myself, was a shoddy job at best.If you enjoyed this review, please like it! If not I would love to hear your comments on how to make not only it better, but all other reviews I create. Thank you!

Fantasy and sci-fi cross seamlessly in "The Shadow Elf"
I recommend this book. An otherworld visitor is left behind on a planet that has fantasy types of inhabitants, such as elves. This adventure is a fun and quick read with an interesting heroine. Expect an adventure fantasy book with a dash of sci-fi. I don't want to give away too much because the story has interesting plot points, perspectives, and unique secondary characters.

Enjoyable yet fast paced. Good quick read.
Great story line, fast paced with lots of action. Would have liked it to be longer, and the adversity a bit harder for the characters to over come. Lots of open ends, will we see sequels?

Good story
I liked this story very much. I would enjoy more of Persephonice + Dracolin's adventures on the planet of magic and two moons!

Very unique :) Check it out!!
My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 Unicorns - I really liked it!!!***Received a code from the author to listen to and review the audio version of the bookThe cover is stunning, but it doesn’t really scream from space. It seems magical, but nothing grabs my attention. This is another audiobook that I listened to with my son in the car. It was very unexpected. I did not read the blurb before listening to this book. I was expecting something like the World of Fae but with Elves. I was so wrong, but it really worked. It took a while for me to really connect with the characters, but I think it is because it was a new world with unexpected twists. I was initially a little lost, but it did become more clear as you went what was going on. I think this is like Star Trek meets a Fae realm. It is a really cool idea. I’m wondering if there will be more of either the Elven World or of the Overseers. I will admit though as of right now I’d still want to slap the Overseers, but you will have to read or listen to see why.Persephonice starts out kind of fragile with grief, but she becomes strong, and I really loved her as a character. She encounters so much trouble and overcomes all the stereotypes that she has been filled with out races who are full of passion.Dracolin is a fierce warrior, and he is not sure why he is so drawn to Persephonice. There is lots of adventure and several men who need to be slapped, but it was a very enjoyable story :) I think if this is a series, it will only get better :)Maria is a new narrator for me, and she did take some time getting used to her style. Once you get used to it, she is a very good narrator. I’m definitely going to listen to more of her stuff especially if it is written by Terry Spear.I recommend this story to all the Terry Spear fans out there especially if you want a unique story :)
