Understanding Values: Discover Your "Inner Artist" as You Explore the Basic Theories and Techniques of Pencil Drawing (Drawing Made Easy)

I wanted a book that helped me to 'understand values' hence I bought this book. It would be better titled 'learn to draw with reference to values'.It covers drawing using shapes, white space, upside down and other such things that are not about tonal values. I didn't want to know how to draw a fuchsia or a zebra - I wanted to understand how to apply tonal values. The other stuff I can get (and already have) from books teaching you how to draw. It's also worth pointing out that this is just for graphite pencil drawing and doesn't cover coloured pencil drawing.Very disappointed.

Learning to draw. Bought a few different learning to draw books, this series is the best and most useful I have found. It's written in easy to understand english too. A must for anyone learning

a great book for the beginner artist. i had a bit of trouble trying to get the values in my drawings right but this book has helped me a lot. well worth buying.

This is a great little book full of useful information about understanding and using value in your drawings.Every Artist needs to know this and it will certainly push your artistic skills up to the next level. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED READING...!
